Need advice on romantic problem

I have a romantic problem and I need some advice...

Basically, I've fallen in love [not heads over heels or over the top in love] with this girl who I've known for quite a while on Facebook.

We have a lot in common, she's a really cool person and we always have fun when chatting online.

The only problem is that she already has a boyfriend even though they're having their ups and downs, relationship-wise...

I'm not the type of guy who'd steal another guy's girl even if said girl was a hot babe as it just makes the guys concerned look bad at the end of the day, and besides I'd rather be with a girl who's single already instead.

I've never had much luck with the opposite sex and I'm definitely not going to go all out and confess my feelings towards her as I'd rather be her friend than act like a idiot towards but I don't know what my next course of action should be...

don't become a homewrecker, even if her relationship isn't in the best shape, she still is attached and she does have feelings for the other guy

that's all I can say really..

sure you have these feelings for her now, but if you actually um..confess to her, she'll probably say 'oh I'm flattered' or along the lines and your friendship with her will fade away and long distant relationships never ever work, sure it'll sound great for about a month or two but things will slip away and either person will get hurt.

I'm not trying to be the bad guy but it's just how it is
