NBA 2010/11 Season Discussion

LOL!

The games that would put me to sleep the fastest were the ones where no one hits the ball...

Yea yea! That's when it's almost as quiet as golf, and the camera goes to the crowd and everyone is sweating their asses off in the blazing sun.

Man, if that isn't nap time material...I don't know what is.

There has been a trade......before the Lockout happens. I hope this Lockout won't last until January again. Although that could benefit the Spurs since they collapsed badly this past season.

Anyways, Cleveland and Sacramento have agreed to a trade to send J.J. Hickson to the Kings for Omri Casspi and a lottery protected 1st round pick. I like this trade for both teams as the Cavs could use another shooter since they don't really have any good shooters on the team. Just a bunch of slashers. The thing that sucks about Casspi and many other shooters is that he can go cold for a LONG time. The Kings get Hickson who will help a lot for the PF position. This can allow Cousins to slide to Center and they can make a tough frontcourt together. Cousins looked dominating at times last season. Getting rid of Casspi helped solved the logjam at SF too so now I wonder what else Geoff Petrie has in mind to fix the Kings again.

Deron Williams to Turkish Team "Besiktas"
A Turkish website is reporting that Besiktas is close to signing Deron Williams to a contract.

Update: Marc Stein of ESPN has confirmed with sources that Williams intends to play for Besiktas if the lockout continues.

Players under contract have typically needed a letter of clearance from FIBA to play elsewhere, but the Players Association believes they need no such clearance during a work stoppage.

"If they try to stop him," one source said of Williams, "the union will fight it."

Sources tell Stein that Williams will not need to report until August or September and that he will be allowed to leave the club once the lockout is resolved.

Besiktas signed Allen Iverson last offseason.

Zaza Pachulia will also sign with Besiktas, according to the report.

Williams is scheduled to become a free agent in 2012.

BREAKING NEWS: Yao Ming Retires

Yao Ming, one of the seminal figures in the globalization of the NBA, has decided to retire after eight injury-plagued seasons with the Houston Rockets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Yao, who missed all but five games of the 2010-11 season, hasn’t been able to fully recover from a tendon strain in his left leg. The veteran center informed the Rockets, the league office in New York, and NBA China of his decision to leave the game within the past 48 hours, sources said.

Yao was set to become a free agent once the league’s lockout ends.

It's really ashame. He never had a chance at a title. I hope he can still be apart of the NBA.

Yao Ming is perhaps the most "greatest" Asian basketball player of all-time. He sure was the most popular. I'm sure many of us who play street ball have seen great players. But Yao Ming was a tall giant who really was a spectacle to watch. I will miss seeing him play.

It might be old news, but Ron Artest is officially no longer. It's now Metta World Peace. It's gonna be an amusing season (whenever it starts) for me at least, whenever Metta scores. One crazy dude.
