Narnia 3 Delayed Because of Disney

I found their reasons for this decision funny. "Budgetary and logistical reasons" or "we can crap out a couple animated direct-to-dvd sequels and make more money quicker with less work"...? You be the judge, folks.

HAHAHAHAH... Show me 4 disney blockbustes that ARE NOT pixar created.
This isn't that difficult: Pirates of the Caribbean, National Treasure, Enchanted, Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, High School Musical.

Upcoming ones include Prince of Persia, G-Force, Surrogates, Tron 2, Lone Ranger, Pirates 4, Hannah Montana, Frog Princess.

All of the above are cheaper to make than Narnia.

Yes, because that's why they're releasing 3 new $30m each Tinkerbell 3d movies direct to dvd over the next 2 years.

Yeah that is a little weird, but apparently they consider their Tinkerbell DVD stuff a separate franchise from their direct-to-video sequels. I'm fine with that because I couldn't care less about fucking tinkerbell, as long as they're not fucking up the classics anymore with the shitty sequels (except for the Lion King ones, which were pretty decent).

Pirates and National Treasure don't count since they're co-productions and not straight up Disney. The upcoming Prince of Persia, G-Force, Pirates 4, and Lone Ranger are also all co-productions.

A 277m international gross sounds like a good number until you factor in how little of a percentage of that money Disney actually gets from it. I forget the actual numbers but i think studios only get around 15% or less of that international gross. Which comes out to around 41.5m.

Then we get to the domestic gross where it only had 141m which they have to share with theaters as well. And I don't know if that 200m covers all the advertising costs or not but if it doesn't then Disney would also have to pay for the advertising out of that 141m too. A movie with such a huge budget should probably be making around 300m domestically and 500m internationally. Which is around what the first Narnia made and that had a smaller budget.

All in all, Disney basically made jack-**** out of Prince Caspian. The only hope for them to make a decent profit is through DVD/Blu-ray sales.
