My Silent Hill BubbleHead Nurse Cosplay

So my sewing machine is in the shop. The old girl needed a serious tune-up after all the had work I put on her with my Hana and Lolita outfits. Since I have nothing to do currently I decided to begin construction on my Silent Hill cosplay.

For those of you who haven't seen these Nurses. Here's one of the pictures I am using for reference.

I'm not going for an exact replica. Thats the nice thing about these girls, all of their faces are different so you have room for creativity.

Basically I am teaching myself to make a latex mask so I can achieve a nice looking mask thats more comfortable to wear. This is my first time working in this medium so I am hoping it will go well.

Last night I worked for a few hours and heres my progress...

I started off with this, a Wig Form

And I began to cover it with an Oil-based clay. With this type of clay I am free to set this project down for a few days and come back to it as if I never left it. Oil-based clays are very workable and usually just need a bit of heat to help with manipulation.



Heres where I ended last night, after a few hours of building up with the clay.





It's not much to look at now, but this is going to be a very long process. But I will continue to post my progress as it comes along! :anime:

This is step one. I am making a mold for the mask. Right now it's in very very beginning stages. Once I complete the sculpture and cast it into latex I have the freedom of cutting out sections gently with an exacto knife which will give me areas for vision and breathing.

While showing cleavage is ALWAYS a good thing. Hiding your face is not.

I'm so torn on this consume. On the one hand I'm a YAY! On the other hand, no so much.

Yea I know, thats what helped sway me into making it. Watching the Behind the Scenes I was just amazed. I wanted a challenge and I figured why not?
