The idea that it starts off with genuine scares but then loses momentum really resonates with me. It seems like the series has a tough time maintaining that creepy atmosphere over the long haul, as seen in a lot of the more recent titles. I love the unsettling moments Silent Hill can create, but if it drags on, it just saps the tension that makes it so compelling.
