My gripe about Hollywood Video

Today's the day that NCAA Football '08 is released to the public. Because I'm almost broke, I can't buy the game. Due to my lack of driver's licence and scorching weather, I could not go to Blockbuster. I went to Hollywood, wich is about .1 mile away, didn't have it for PS3 to rent! :170: That ticks me off, because they had the game to rent for Xbox, Xbox360, and PS3. Have you ever had this problem?

This reminds me when I was younger and I rented maybe 3 games a time at Blockbuster, but back before video games really had 'release dates' per say and it was all sorta random. Sometimes I'd get lucky, and all of a sudden I'd see something awesome like Chrono Trigger when it first came out.

Other times I was waiting for games to come out like Megaman X3, which took over a month since it was release, (I was just lucky I was there so much the manager called me up and told me to come pick it up for renting).

But yeah, it's happened to me way too many times.. I think the worst was.. I kept waiting to see if they'd ever get "Rise of the Robots" in.. and --never--, so I finally gathered the 80 bucks to buy it, thinking it was going to be the greatest game ever..

...my bad.

I'm confused. Did they not have the game? Or the system to rent?
Stores RARELY rent systems any more, too expensive to do it.
As for games, it's a crapshoot if a rental place will have a game for rent on a release date. And if it is, it will get rented out fast.

They didn't have NCAA Football 08 for the PS3 only. Yet, they had it for Xbox 360, Xbox and PS2.

I do have a PS3.

Checked this morning. Still no NCAA Football 08 for PS3.

This is ascinine (sp?). If you got it for Xbox 360, its ridiculous to be missing it for PS3.

I hate to break it to you man, but you're going to be encountering this a lot. I had that problem when I was in the minority with the Gamecube.

Not sure if it's the same at all Hollywood videos, but the one I go to only puts new games out on Friday's.

I used to work for a video store chain and this could possibly be a distributor problem. As in, they got the game for other systems but some sort of problem prevented them from getting and shipping the PS3 verison. Or it could just be that your particular store doesn't rent enough PS3 games to Hollywood Video corporate just decided not to sent that one. Like what VengeanceGOD said about the Gamecube. Sorry, man.

Finally! It arrived at the store at noon today. And I got it. It's a very nice game. Now, I need some good sliders.
