Actress Mika Boorem, who has starred in films like Riding in Cars With Boys, Blue Crush and Hearts in Atlantis, is marking her feature directorial debut with Hollywood.Con, a new movie she also stars in.
Boorem plays an actress much less experienced than she, who’s looking for her big break and finds it when she accidentally steals the identity of a big time producer. We’re not sure how one “accidentally” does that, but the point is, she’s now in charge of a big feature film shooting in the jungles of Guatemala. What she didn’t expect was to wind up living the movie’s plot.
It isn’t long before the actress is kidnapped by El Jade, the leader of a dangerous cartel who mistakes her for a rival gang leader (she’s being mistaken for EVERYONE today). She manages to escape by by conning El Jade’s son, and is now on the run with him, her father, and a Mayan priest (for some reason). How many more people will she have to fool to get out of this alive?
