My Confessions Regarding About Tokusatsu

Fellow HJU heroes/citizens, I would like to share to you some current truths, mixed with old truths I have regarding about tokusatsu.

Here are the truths,

Truths:

1. I am rediscovered my love for Sentai than Power Rangers.
2. I enjoyed a lot of Rider action with Decade, Den-O, Dragon Knight, Hibiki and Kiva.
3. I love Kamen Rider and Super Sentai more than Power Rangers.
4. I enjoyed a lot of EPs 1-4 of Tomica Hero Rescue Force.
5. I learned BOARD RPG because of Tokusatsu
6. I became a member of HJU because of it
7. I realized that I want to see more GARO action after the final episode
8. I acquired a lot of HJU friends because of it.
9. I was once a Hardcore Anime fan and a Subtle Toku fan, but Toku won my heart more now.
10. I learned that I am not the only toku lover here in the Republic of the Philippines, who enjoyed a lot of Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and many more.

And that's all. Finished.

Now if anybody has his or her own truths, let him or her post it right in this thread.

1. I prefer Hibiki over Faiz.
2. I prefer the original Ryuki over KRDK and Decade Ryuki.
3. I liked turbo.
4. Hibiki is my 2nd favourite rider after kiva.
5. I liked Den-O.
6. I prefer abaranger over PRDT.

1. I think i'm the only Toku lover here in Ecuador (so... alone)
2. I think Yuusuke Onodera is a great character, maybe my fave in Decade.
3. I love the Agito series, but I allways found the design of the Ground Form Agito unapealling.
4. I never ever liked Power Rangers or even Sentai.
5. Watching Mebius at the same time as Faiz killed my love for Ultraman.
6. For me, THE FIRST and THE NEXT are awesome!!!

1. I watch way too much Tokusatsu. I've been a Toku addict for about 17 years now.
2. Kamen Rider Black, Juuko B-Fighter, Ultraman Mebius, Dengeki Sentai Changeman are possibley the greatest tv shows of all time.
3. I hated Hibiki from beginning to end and I never want to see it again.
4. I'm tempted to give Den-O another shot when I'm done rewatching Agito.
5. I've spent about $5,000+ on Tokusatsu DVDs and another few hundred on collecting MIB toys to display on my wall.
6. When someone says the word Beetleborgs.. I cringe and get violent.
7. I'm pretty much done with Power Rangers. I just ain't feelin' it anymore.
8. I enjoyed The First & The Next ALOT.

1. Gavan and Black was the first toku shows I grew up watching
2. I love antiheroes in kamen rider, such as Kaixa and Chalice
3. I enjoyed Den-O a lot although I initially wasn't pleased with it
4. I can't get used to seeing Koji Seto as a kamen rider
5. I loved Kabuto and Faiz simply for their awesome designs and rider systems.
6. I like Gekirangers!
7. Okamoto Jiro an Seiji Takaiwa are my fav toku stuntmen
8. I loved Kuuga's ultimate form design

1.Sentai is alright
2.Kamen Rider is good
3.Ultraman is great
4.Godzilla is Better

 

[Daikamonohashi]

1. Toho's tokusatsu spirit died in the seventies.
2. Toei sold their soul to Bandai a long time ago.
3. Tsuburaya Pro. is the last of the major toku-producing companies that's really worth a damn anymore. With a few exceptions, other companies' works are fun but not nearly as satisfying.
4. Den-O is more popular in Japan than Jesus is here in the Deep South.
5. Very few of the Heisei Kamen Rider series I have seen really seem to know how to hold a good story and usually wind up being fairly disappointing, much as I want to like them.
6. Nothing in the genre can ever be as awesome as Toho's output in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Nothing, damn it.
7. Godzilla will always be my number one.
8. The three best modern tokusatsu series are Bio-Planet WoO (2006), Ultraman Max (2005-06), and Mikazuki (2000), in that order.
9. Speaking of which, Bio-Planet WoO is the most criminally underwatched tokusatsu series I know of.
10. Takeshi Yagi really needs to direct more kaiju films.

[Duel.]

- Thought Hibiki was the worst season ever. I've watched from Ryuki... and never missed a single one until until Hibiki... I just completely skipped it. (Before anyone wants to try and bite my head off, I state this as my personal opinion.)

- Hated and lost my passion for the North American adaptation of "Power Rangers" after Time Force.

- Thought the english dub of Ultraman in North America was hilarious.

- Toast for life.
