I thought this would be fun to do. Random people can come and talk about music that's just released. I could be wrong, but I think it'd be pretty cool. Like give a blow-by-blow of an album or single. XD

NEWS: color

This CD is to be released on 11/19 but we already have it. It's magical. Anyway, for hardcore NEWS fans like myself, it was pretty anticipated (but for some reason I had no idea it was ripped until like an hour ago, haha~). There are a lot of pretty amazing new tracks, and also some older songs we all know.

1. weeeek - Our favorite single! Well, most people's; mine will forever remain SUMMER TIME. But it's a great way to start off a full-length, because we'll all listen to it again anyway. It's upbeat, it's fun, and it has 4 e's. There's really no more anyone can ask for.

2. STARDUST - This is quickly becoming one of my favorites. It resembles a lot of the B-sides of the NEWS singles, in my opinion, but it's catchy and has an amazing guitar in it. I'm a sucker for the high-treble rhythm guitar riffs, so I definitely listened to this three times before moving on to the next song despite my excitement for the album. Everyone gets a line, which is pretty effing awesome.

3. SUMMER TIME - <3. Oh man. Favorite NEWS song ever. It came out late April, which was right around the time of prom and all the high school memory-making and also studying for AP exams, haha. The PV made me so ridiculously nostalgic and fuzzy-feeling inside. I love this song, I love how everyone gets a part, and I love the KoyaShige rap. But back to the PV...it was pretty hard to resist watching over and over when it first came out. Ryo and Masuda sucking at washing shirts, Tegoshi and Koyama failing at blending drinks, and Ryo and Yamapi like little girls sharing a drink. Add that to a really fun and uplifting song, and you have Track 3.

4. SNOW EXPRESS - I think this song was first sung/performed during the Never Ending Wonderful Story concert tour. It was a really good mellow song and it had a really cool dance. Also, Yamapi's rap is another reason the song rocks. I'm sure fans are excited to have a quality track of this song to listen to...I've been listening to the live rip for forever. :/

5. Forever - I personally find this song pretty addictive. It's like R&B pop...if there's such a thing. I like how Shige starts this song out, he's really improved his singing since...well...I think he's improved. XD Massu's voice is accented during the choruses, and it fits really well. I think it just goes to show again how diverse NEWS can be as far as music goes (the rock tracks on the SUMMER TIME single have really grown on me).

6. MOLA - Yamapi solo! The guy pretty much takes every opportunity he can to seduce more of the Japanese female population (well, and overseas fangirls). Basically the same theme as "Gomen ne, Juliet" except more sexual. He throws in some pretty well-versed English phrases in the mix too. The song was reminiscent of, say, Justin Timberlake. It's a good song, but I shudder at the thought of what he'll do when he performs this in concert. Maybe without pants this time?

7. Kesenai - Tegoshi main! When I heard there was going to be a Tegoshi-centric song, I was so freaking excited, because "Ai Nante" was pretty much my bread and water for about a month when I first heard it. This is kinda different; a ballad led by Tegoshi's amazing voice that oozes emotion, but in a disparate way. I prefer "Ai Nante" but this is good too.

8. ordinary - Ryo solo! Ryo has the most amazing solo songs. "code" had to grow on me, but once it did I couldn't stop listening to it and reveling in its genius. I can't wait to see Ryo perform this one; the chorus is really powerful, pretty catchy, and makes me wanna dance. There's a guitar solo (which should be longer, imo) that I look forward to seeing QUESTION?'s Akun play live. This song's one of the album's highlights, don't miss it!

9. Minna ga iru sekai wo hitotsu ni ai wo motto Give&Take shimashou - Masuda main! When I read it was going to be a Massu main song, I was uber excited. It's pretty upbeat and should be catchy, but it's taking a long time to grow on me...hmm. I like the verses but the chorus bothers me a bit for some reason; I like what they're singing about (it's really inspirational and positive like all of Massu's stuff) but I'm not feeling it for some reason. We'll see, I'm sure I'll end up liking the song a lot. That's pretty much what's happened with NEWS all along. XD

10. Murarisoto - KoyaShige! Hearing the first 3 seconds...it's your basic Koyama and Shige, haha. The song's very very very reminiscent of "Chirarizumu," the other KoyaShige song that was on pacific. It seems like they're singing about the same thing too, lmao. It's a really fun song despite the seeming lack of originality, and it'll probably have a ridiculous dance set to it as well.

11. Taiyou no Namida - 'Nuff said.

12. Smile Maker - I absolutely love the beat of this song! I like hearing them sing individually throughout the song, but it seems really random to me. The instrumental confused the heck out of me. I love the simultaneous softness and upbeat timbre of the song. It's good stuff.

13. Happy Birthday - I remember all of our initial reactions to this song, haha. I didn't like it at all at first; the PV hurt my eyes and I didn't like their new haircuts (except Masuda's, his never changes lol). But after seeing it live on Music Station and then Hey!Hey!Hey! it gradually grew on me. Now I privately dance to it in my dorm. XD It also randomly gets stuck in my head. For the topic, it has super cute and sentimental lyrics, which is another plus of the song despite its difference in style. For some reason Koyama's lines make me really happy but Shige's lines make me cringe. That's irrelevant, however...the song's good. :D

14. FLY AGAIN - This is another song that struck me as sounding like a single's B-side. It's somewhat catchy at first, and has an uplifting sound. It's good, though not amazing, and...uh...yeah.

15. Towairo no Koi - I love this song, and it's an awesome way to end the album. It's a slow, happy song that's pretty much typical NEWS.

So yeah. NEWS's color in a nutshell! Kinda. Definitely go get it, whether you like NEWS or not, I'm sure there's something for you in there. I'll be listening to this obsessively for the next few days, most likely.

As far as this thread goes, there are other releases that are calling your guys' names... *cough* arashi and ONE OK ROCK *cough* ...if you want to.

I really am expecting you guys to start doing this, haha. Like Miaka can do the Hexagon music and someone else can do that Orange Range song you guys are disgustingly obsessed with, and so on.

UVERworld: Hanakaku mo Towa no Kanashi

This single is also supposed to be released this Wednesday. It's gonna be the theme for the second season of Gundam 00...which means absolutely nothing to me, lol. On another, more random note, one of my friends made me watch some Code Geass with him, so I might actually start watching an anime. Like...what? :O

Anyways, download this single here.

1. Hanakau mo Towa no Kanashi - I love this song, but it really is hard to distinguish it from all their other ones, haha. I love their style but at this point all their songs start to sound the same...not that that's necessarily a bad thing. The dueling guitars are the same, the bass style is the same, and TAKUYA's vocals are still pretty amazing. Check it out, it's catchy and the instrumentalization is great.

2. Taion - A typical slow UVERworld song, but the intro is great. You gotta love the guitar sound on it. The song makes me slightly sentimental, and there's not that much unique about it, so it probably won't be up there on the Most Played in my iTunes but it's definitely worth a couple listens because of the acoustic guitars that show up toward the second half of the song. Very good stuff.

3. Harujion - A fast, really upbeat song (maybe Yas will like it then?). This song struck me as a combination of a bunch of their other songs; the end to the chorus and the bridges sound so ridiculously familiar. Hmm. I find it to be a rather powerful song though, and the metal-sounding instrumentals are worth it.

And then there's an anime ver. of Hanakaku mo Towa no Kanashi, but whatevs, haha.

I'll be doing Osahre Banchou, I feel it's my duty after hooking just about everyone but Kev on it.

Orange Range
: Osahre Banchou

The title track is being used as the current CM song for a series of new Pocky commercials currently airing, with what seems the cutest girl ever in them, who is, much to the dismay of Yas, Corey, and what I'm sure is many others, only 15. The download can be found here.

1. Oshare Bancho feat. Soy Sauce - The title track, of course. It's a very high energy song with a lot of vocal synthesizer effects and fast cuts going around all over the place. The song is different from the usual J-Pop-Rock tracks that Orange Range seems to release as their title tracks on singles, but most Pocky CM songs are hyper crazy, and this one is no different. I love the song, though I wasn't the biggest fan at first, I quickly fell in love with it after randomly listening, the lyrics are fun and the music is great to dance to.

2. Reason - Much more mellow compared to Oshare Banchou, but just as good. The song is more on the light pop side and seems just a tad bit whimsical at times, definitely not something I've heard from the group in a while, but it's a much welcomed return.

3. Beat it ~ from PANIC FANCY~ DEXPIS - A remix of a song from their most recent album. The original song was a nice, fun tune to play and this one is no different. It's crazy in its own way, not like Oshare Banchou. It may not be a song everyone will like since I'm sure the effects on this song can get annoying after a while. This was probably my least favorite track on the single, but that's bad since I liked all three songs.

Oshare Banchou is awesome ... i think i am gonna get the single instead

Anyone can recommend/link to me some good Orange Range song ?

Bump? Why yes, I think so.
Artist: flumpool
CD/Album name: Unreal
Where you most likely known them from: Bloody Monday
Where to get it: Yo.

This is the first mini-album from the group, after officially debuting in July of last year as an indie band and October of this year as a signed band. The mini-album is currently kicking all kinds of ass on Oricon, even keeping NEWS out of the number one spot at the moment.

1. Hana ni Nare - This was actually the first flumpool song I heard as I ignored the music on Bloody Monday, but it's turned out to be my second favorite track on the mini. It's a bit of a slow song, opens up with violin chords before moving into more of a contemporary style. It loses me during some parts of the song, but it just as fast pulls me back in, the guitarist for the band is awesome and really reminds me of The Pillows, one of my favorite bands, so it's a pleasant surprise to hear that in this song. The vocals aren't anything too amazing, but they carry the song pretty well in their own style and even feel a little haunting at certain points.

2. Haru Kaze - Another nice little song, has an interesting melody to start off with and is a pretty easy going song that kept me captivated the whole way through. The vocals are nice and soothing, not nearly as flowing as in the last song, but I think this approach works much better here. The instrumentals do so much by not really being too obstructive, the vocals blend wonderfully with them and I think this is where the vocalist really shows what he's capable of. Easily my favorite song on this mini.

3. Over the Rain ~hikari no Hashi~ - Bloody Monday's theme song, and despite the odd title, it's another great song. It feels a little more "grand" than others and some parts seriously remind me of Mr. Children, but it's still such a fantastic song to listen to. The vocals come up pretty well here too, unlike in the first track.

4. 388859 - Not sure what the title refers to, it's most likely goroawase and I'm far too lazy to look that one up. This song goes back to the decentish vocals of the first track, but the match much better with this song, I felt a better flow throughout the entire course of the song and the instrumentals here were really interesting to me, especially that nice guitar solo about midway into the song.

5. Hello - Another pretty good track, the vocals aren't the best here, but the actual music makes up for it by providing a really original backdrop that I don't hear too often.

6. Labo - Annnd this is where they start to lose me a bit. I like most of the actual music throughout, but the vocals really don't work for me here and take me out of the song, so there wasn't too much I could actually enjoy here. It's not horrible, but it definitely didn't resound with me as well as the first five tracks did.

7. LOST - ...and back to listening to something decent after that last disappointing track. Um, yeah, not too sure what to say about this one that I didn't say about the others. The instrumentals create a unique feel and the vocals aren't horrible, I like the trembling in the voice here more than in the other songs.

8. Mirai - The final track (well there are instrumentals, but I won't review them) is upon us and it's another good song. This song feels a little more somber in comparison to the rest of the track, I usually love this type of song and it's no different here. Everything is pretty light, well the whole album was fairly light, but compared to the rest of their stuff I mean. The song almost feels as if it's building up to something that it never quite gets to, but it didn't bother me at all here. Definitely a nice way to close out the mini and it's probably my second favorite track here.

KAT-TUN - ONE DROP and RESCUE

limited.jpg

KAT-TUN - ONE DROP

1. ONE DROP
The main song and the theme for Kami No Shizuku, the song has a good feel of Pop and Rock. Certainly its enjoyable and to me the best KAT-TUN song till now.

2. ON MY MIND
I havent listend much to this song, i think its passable as nice. Its a ballad but certainly not as great as Bokura Machi De and White Xmas. But still it has a great feel to it.

3.D-T-S
The Song first start of with a guitar, and then they sing. I realy dont like this song. I didnt listen to this one much either but i think it can grow on me.
Theres a part in the middel where Akanishi sings, while there is a drum playing in the background, that part felt a bit off...

KAT-TUN - RESCUE

1.RESCUE
RESCUE is in one word "Awsome" its defitnetly a great song, and it realy fits the drama Rescue. I like the part when they sing "runing up, im (ah) runing up", Akanishi's voice realy stands out in this one.

2.7 DAYS BATTLE
This song is not that bad. It first starts with a great tune, but when they starts singing i was realy dissapointed, they sound so robotic. Maybe its because they sing the whole song in english?
Yamapi did the same for MOLA, but i realy dont like songs like that.

3.ON MY MIND ~PLEASE COME BACK TO ME~
This is a way slower version of the original version, i think this sounds better then the original version.

Kuroki Meisa - Hellcat

coverbl.jpg

Hellcat is Kuroki Meisa's debute album.
Honestly i was expecting more from it, only few songs, were good but most of them starts good but then it becomes very boring. Kuroki can sing, but the songs feel like they waste her tallent...
