Most Overrated Tokusatsu

Garo get's too much praise IMO. I loved the show, but most of the time, people just seem to go "OMG!! there be boobies in dis show!!" or "this show is dark and mature so then it is automatically awesome." oh come on!!!!

Yeah, I can see that. Garo's a fantastic show but the "Dark" crowd does overhype it at times. Same can be said of Ultraman Nexus and Ultraseven X, both of which are also great shows in their own right but can also be overhyped by the same folks.

And Kabuto... while it's fun it's also a terrible mess more often than not.

I don't fancy thin plots, arrogant main characters, metrosexuals or tofu.

Some of the riders had great potential, but they somehow managed to screw up everything. Good thing Tsurugi was in it, or else I probably wouldn't have finished the series. Funny how they just HAD to kill him off. Can't show kids that all monsters aren't always evil, now can we? Stupid racists.

On the contrary, I really liked the suit designs. Kamen Rider Drake looks fucking awesome, especially in his armored form (or whatever they call it in the show). Just wish they'd made alittle more use of that form instead of abusing cast-off all the time.

Yeah. For me it wasn't so much that it was dark I just enjoyed seeing something more focused, and less over gimmicked that had great design work. (Though the suits are a little on the clunky side) Same goes for Nexus. It's also saying something that I liked Garo because I'm not really a horror movie fan at all and Garo really had that vibe.

And Kabuto... while it's fun it's also a terrible mess more often than not.

A "terrible mess" is an understatement.

GARO is the greatest... it and Kabuto get all the chicks, while Den-O stays in and plays checkers by himself.

Den-o had Hana & she was one of the sexiest chicks in Kamen Rider, but then also it lost Hana.. hmmm Maybe you have a point.

However I never said I liked Den-o better than Kabuto anyways, & I definitely don't like it better than GARO, so yeah. XD Blade & Garo are my top two.

At the time I made this poll, Den-O still seemed to be hated and only had a handful of supporters. While I've noticed a dozen more people stepping up to defend it (which makes me wonder what sort of hypnotic ray Toei included in Climax Deka or one of the live shows), I still don't think it's reached the level of overrating of a Faiz or Kabuto, so I personally still wouldn't have included it in the poll.

Something similar happened with Hibiki. It went all year being despised, then people started to magically claim it was the best Rider series ever. Huh?

Weird... as far as I've seen it seems like most people love Den-O. Pretty sure I was in the minority.
