Mobile Suit Z Gundam: A New Translation - TALK UP!

[Sentaifan'07 Xman]

I just finished watching this movie trilogy, I actually thought the films were well-produced. I mean, the story actually emphasized on the retelling of the original TV series storyline and mainly focused on Char's/Quattro's side of the story and Kamile's role as a secondary Newtype. Precisely why we should have more of the UC gundam series being reintroduced like this. Overall, I like the Gackt songs and the new animations were incredible.

Best work I have seen. Now, I definitely need to watch the original series and ZZ Gundam at the process.

What does everyone else think about A New Translation?

I don't think it's as good as the original Gundam trilogy IMHO. I would have liked it if they didn't mix the old and new animation all that much. I personally didn't like the new ending as well. I thought the old Zeta series was excellent enough as it is and didn't really need this remake.....but I will take it over the cosmic era Gundams.

Well, that's okay with me. Although I would've like it better if they had just stick to the new animation instead.

i also remember the japanese fan base made a big deal out of the change of four's voice actress. i heard that she wanted to do it and tomino wanted her back, but i heard the voice director got his girlfriend instead.

I heard that Yukana used her relationship with the sound director Fujino Sadayoshi to get the role of Four. My guess, she either gave him a BJ, or they had sex and she was blackmailing him to change the director's mind.

Here's my thoughts on the Zeta Gundam TV series:Click here!

and as an extra bonus, here's a little AMV experiment on the movie trilogy with English audios:[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhVDktiIZGo"]Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation (English) Dubbing Experiment[/ame]

I found the movies to be lackluster. Unlike the original Gundam Trilogy, which took out all of the filler from the tv series, these movies were missing massive amounts of information. Not to mention they changed the excellent ending to Zeta, making it hard for ZZ to follow, ruining the entire purpose for ZZ.
