Mike Carey named as new X-Men writer

[Ragna "D" BloodEdge]

According to an article at UncannyX-Men.Net, Mike Carey was recently named the new head writer for X-Men and he's scheduled to take over at the end of the "Blood of Apocalypse" storyline. Also mentioned in the article is a new team of X-Men, consisting of Rogue, Iceman, Cable, Cannonball, Sabretooth, and Mystique being formed in July--most likely to compensate for the addition of Gambit and Sunfire to the Horsemen of Apocalypse and the departure of Havok and the depowered Polaris from the current lineup.

DC/Vertigo’s Lucifer and Hellblazer, Wildstorm’s Wetworks, Marvel’s Spellbinders, Dynamite’s Red Sonja, and most recently a two-issue stint on Marvel’s Ultimate Fantastic Four. Mike's also penning the DC/Vertigo adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere.
