Metallica: The 3d Movie Coming Soon

First, Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber and then, THEM? Who would watch an hour and a half full of 3d **** stain?

Various news outlets have been today reporting that thrash metal juggernauts Metallica are set to star in their own 3D movie.

According to Blabbermouth.net, the band has hired Charlotte Huggins, producer of the Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D movie franchise to spearhead the project. Details on the project are at present, scant, and commentators are currently speculating as to whether the film will resemble a concert movie similar to U2’s recent 3D offering, or whether the band is planning to incorporate themselves or their music into some kind of feature film project.

This comes after Metallica’s collaborative project with Lou Reed, Lulu was streamed online last week. The album, based on a series of plays written by German play right Frank Wedekind in the early 1900s, has received a shaky reception from many sections of the Metallica fan base.

Some have compared the record to the bay area thrashers’ 2003 therapy session meets "comeback" album St. Anger. The turbulent making of that disc was documented in Metallica’s first foray onto the big screen, the 2004 documentary Some Kind Of Monster.

Fans will no doubt be hoping for something less like Lulu from the latest Metallica movie, and something more like the Big 4 concert that was streamed into cinemas worldwide two years ago. That film, which documented the performances of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica at the Sonisphere Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria, was subsequently certified double platinum in the United States when released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Whether you’re psyched at the prospect of seeing Hetfield, Ulrich et al. in 3D or approaching the announcing of this new Metallica project with trepidation, let us know in the comments section below.

Just because it's appropriate for this thread... have any of you guys heard anything from Lulu? lol

MetallicA's been bullshit since the Black album.

I'm purely a Kill-Justice fan. I cannot stand the other soft **** and I really don't want to see Lars Ulrich cry like a little bitch in a movie.
