Megas XLR Possibly Cancelled?!

Tis saddening news to hear. Definitely getting the DVDs if they come out.

Wonder if this means the Megas action figure might be going for cheaper on the CN website....

:nono: Geeze, Its like everyone is cancel happy in TV land, not giving a crap about how many fan's the show has just to make room for crap, I've heard of this going on at CBS, CN, and UPN (Enterprise). And i think Megas would work perfectly if they bumped everything up one and got rid of Tom.... I mean.. who the heck likes this show? I've set down with a group of friends trying to find humor in it, but would have been better off watching an episode of something off Lifetime or rather have turned it and watched what ever speical PBS was showing at that time, you know that multi colored bar loud tone show is really awsome :eplus2: compaired to Tom.

Oh well
Death To Tom, Long Live Megas!!!!!!!

You mean one crapass show right? It fucking sucked, I don't see what's so good about it. I expected it to be great with all the cool comments I've heard from my friends, to me it felt like VR Troopers and that almost made me puke.
everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

At first when I saw the promos, I thought "Wow.. another American attempt at making an anime-styled show... it'll suck" but after watching a few eps out of boredom, it wasn't actually as bad as i thought it would be.

Yeah, when Ryan rescued his father and got an upgrade from Metalder to Shaider?

And O GODS THE AMERICAN GRIMLORD! You might as well have called the guy who played Emperor Palpatine.

And also, if it's one thing VR Troopers gave us, it was Sarah Joy Brown, aka Kaitlin. God, I so wanted her as a kid. She was gorgeous.

Megas is a dumb show but it makes no apologies for it. It's fun for what it is. Perfectly suitable programming for veggies and stoners.

I'd still catch reruns of it whenever and get some jollies from them. But the prospect of no more new episodes doesn't bother me at all. It's not like the show had any kind of compelling depth to it whatsoever.

All the episodes are essentially the same thing anyway. None of the characters ever evolved beyond the string of running gags that's been passed off as their 2-dimensional personalities. The majority of the plots never got past "bad guy sends giant thing to attack Megas". The only thing that ever differentiates one episode from the next was the geekhip series they decided to knock-off.

Last week on Megas XLR. Coop's hungry and dumb, Jamie's cowardly and sleazy and Kiva is annoyed with them both. Megas fights a bunch of guys that look like Gatchaman. The Chtutlu guys may or may not show up.

This week on Megas XLR. Coop's hungry and dumb, Jamie's cowardly and sleazy and Kiva is annoyed with them both. Megas fights a bunch of girls that look like Sailor Senshi. The Chtutlu guys may or may not show up.

Next week on Megas XLR. Coop's hungry and dumb, Jamie's cowardly and sleazy and Kiva is annoyed with them both. Megas fights a bunch of bots that look like Zakus. The Chtutlu guys may or may not show up.

Next week after that on Megas XLR. Coop's hungry and dumb, Jamie's cowardly and sleazy and Kiva is annoyed with them both. Megas fights a guy that looks like MODOK. The Chtutlu guys may or may not show up.

Etc...

I like watching giant robots **** **** up as much as the next guy. Hell, I grew up with Transformers, Voltron and Tranzor-Z burned into my very psyche. I've even seen the attrocious Robot Jox and liked it! But after awhile, even I need something more than "Hey! That guy looks like Megatron!" to keep coming back for more.

So thanks Megas. You were good for a laugh so may you rest happily in pop culture heaven between Danger Mouse and snap straps.

never seen the second season in my area and from the sounds of things itt's a good thing I didn't. Guess that's why I have such good memories from the show
