Masked Rider on DVD!

The whole show seemed like a mess, I still have a lot of the taps on VHS...And it did suck compared to the original. Isinomori's work got cut to pieces and I don't blame him for not letting it be done again. But meh...Would be nice to see a GOOD version of a newer series done.

I agree... I didn't like it myself, but I'll be damned if I step in someone's way who did like it.

I definately wish they'd just gone the Power Ranger route and made it a straight out action/adventure show... inserting that reject 80's sitcom family was wholly retarded and completely unnecessary.

But yeah.. hard for me to get upset and riled that a man who'll be remembered forever had a cheap crappy show made from his works. Who cares?

I care more that I'm glad he created what he did and that apparently Black rocks the party that rocks the body.

Masked Rider... meh... I might've gotten all upset when I was like.. 19 or so, but now it's just like, "Hey... Dex, you were pretty cool. You should go back to Edenoi, you shouldn't waste your time in a show as it is. Thanks for letting me know that Kamen Rider exists tho!"

I'm still waiting someday to see if Forever Knight can come up with a metaphor that doesn't involve sex. =)

As for Ishinomori, no one's going to remember him for Saban's Masked Rider. Hell, no one outside of PR (maybe KR) fandom remembers Saban for Saban's Masked Freakin' Rider. I barely remember Saban's Masked Rider, and I watched most of the damn thing!

Ishinomori's works were taken down a few notches (well, several) by Saban's remake, but I don't feel sorry for Ishinomori because of it. The man has a legacy that's still going. He was a creative mind that spawned a cult following. He made more good things than just RX and one lousy send-up of RX alone isn't going to screw it over.

Ishinomori still made his cash and, quite frankly, could rest assured knowing that the Americans just couldn't do it as well as he did anyway.

Bash Masked Rider as much as you like, and that's fine by me. Call it a horrible, horrible remake of RX and that's also fine. You're probably right; I can't remember it to agree enough with you. But getting righteous about it? *eyebrow* Is it really worth the effort? (and yes, I could probably apply the same thing to myself right about now)

When did Masked Rider come out? I think I was like 6 or 7 when it was out. No wonder I liked it. I REALLY wanna see Kamen Rider Black and RX but Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki and Blade come first...

I really hate the idea of the finishing move....The Sun Sword should stab the enemy right? and somehow it became a laser gun sword where it shoot out a laser projectile 0_o.....OWWW MY GOODD!!! :nono: ....that turns me off....

Totally. After seeing how RX did it in the original show, that was just stupid.

About the only thing worse than Masked Rider is the illegally-made Chaiyo Rider movie. Even the cheapest costume in the Japanese shows, old or new, looks like a million bucks compared to the costumes in that movie.
