Capcom ruled 90s arcades with their fierce fighting titles, many of which saw their roster of iconic characters pitted against Marvel superheroes. “Marvel Vs Capcom” was a staple of arcades for quite a while, with each pizza parlor and mall having at least one machine from the series humming somewhere. Now Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics brings the past back to life with seven Capcom / Marvel co-productions, emulated perfectly with new features. Included are X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom: Clash Of Super Heroes, Marvel Vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, and finally, The Punisher. Yup, just him. Bonuses the arcade players never got to enjoy include online play and leaderboards, adjustable difficulty, an option for specials to be triggered with one button, game saves in single-player mode and more. The game is not only out digitally but physically as well, and Capcom will make the trip to the store worth it with a bonus 32-page comic book tucked into every copy of the game. Battle It Out Online: Online ranked, casual, and custom matches are available for all six fighting games so […]

Capcom, it’s time to stop teasing us with nostalgia and give the fans what they’ve been begging for: Marvel Vs Capcom 4 and Darkstalkers 4! These franchises defined an era of fighting games, and their absence in the modern gaming scene is a massive missed opportunity.

The Fighting Collection proves there’s still a passionate audience for these classics. But we don’t want to keep replaying old titles forever—we want new entries that respect their roots while bringing fresh ideas to the table. Marvel Vs Capcom 4 needs the vibrant roster, high-energy gameplay, and gorgeous visuals that made MvC2 legendary. Forget Infinite’s mistakes and return to what worked.

And let’s not forget Darkstalkers. That series had some of the most creative characters and mechanics in the genre. Capcom, you’ve been testing the waters with collections, but the time for half-measures is over. A full-fledged Darkstalkers 4 could introduce a new generation of players to its unique horror-fantasy style while satisfying the die-hard fans who’ve been waiting for years.

You’ve brought Street Fighter back to life with SF6. Now, show the same love to your other legendary series. The fans are ready—are you?

The inclusion of rollback netcode and ranked matches is a huge win for competitive players like me. These updates show Capcom can make a classic title feel modern. Now, if they use this momentum to launch a new Marvel Vs Capcom game, it has to cater to both the competitive scene and casual players. Infinite tried too hard to appeal to esports and lost the magic. Bring back the crazy combos and massive roster from MvC2!

This collection is nice, but I’m wary of getting my hopes up. Capcom hasn’t always handled fan-favorite franchises well in recent years. If they use this as a testing ground for a new MvC game, they need to take a hard look at why Infinite fell flat. Go back to what worked—larger-than-life characters, fast-paced gameplay, and a killer aesthetic. Otherwise, this might just be a nostalgia cash grab.

This collection is such a love letter to the fans. If it performs well, it could pave the way for a new Marvel Vs Capcom game. I’m imagining a title that builds on everything fans adored about MvC2 but updated for modern consoles. Imagine online tournaments, gorgeous animations, and a roster that includes current Marvel favorites alongside Capcom’s deep bench. Capcom, if you’re listening—don’t mess this up!

This collection is a dream come true! I spent countless hours in arcades, especially on Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Seeing all these classics in one bundle, with features like rollback netcode and one-button specials, makes it even better. I’m also hyped about The Punisher! That game never got the attention it deserved in the States, so having it on modern consoles is like unearthing a lost treasure. Capcom nailed this one.

The addition of one-button specials is a game-changer for accessibility. Fighting games can be intimidating for newcomers or players with physical challenges, so simplifying inputs makes this collection more inclusive. Kudos to Capcom for taking steps to open their classics to a wider audience. I hope this becomes a standard feature in future titles.
