Marvel Anime: X-Men

Hisako aka Armor was a character introduced during Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men. Besides hovering around Mary Sue territory (Whedon made her Wolverine's spunky sidekick) she hasn't done anything. Seriously due her being featured in Astonishing for the length Whedon's run she wasn't allowed to be used by anyone else. Admittedly she has a somewhat interesting power but due the X-offices craptacular management no character has had any meaningful development since House of M so honestly don't expect her to be interesting anytime soon.

I have some "issues" with the current direction of the X-Men and Marvel's policies in general. Honestly the one senior editor I like is Mark Paniccia, in part because he actually puts the inkers and colorers names on the cover.

Personally I'm not comfortable with them not knowing what in heaven's name they're doing half the time and then DC does something and they scramble to copy or top it and it just makes them look like crud. I could understand it if they were all busy with stuff that's gonna shake up their continuity and whatnot, but...aside from apparently killing off a character every quarter to help boost sales ('The floggings will continue until morale improves.') I've seen nothing out of them and heard nothing out of them that makes me want to care about what they're doing.

I also take issue with Spider-Man the Musical, but that's waaaay off topic.

These are just generic and boring to look at, nothing about them save the ankle Xs on Beast and Storm say X-Men. And speaking of Beast why is he wearing a pea coat... Times like this really makes you miss times when people actually cared about superhero costumes.

Butbut...you can't have COSTUMES! No! How dare you have super-suits in this modern, edgy era?! That's not REAL! All Marvel's young, hip fans demand total realism out of their comics! Because there's just so...many of....

Okay, even I can't finish that bit of sarcasm.

The suits look about par for the course for newer X-Men these days. I'll admit I miss the days when everyone had a distinct costume of their own, but apparently that's not believable anymore.

Not a comic book thread. This cartoon looks neat, but I think they went off the rails the moment they asked some English writers to do the basic plotting. They should've given the Japanese creators some basic character information (a translated Marvel Encyclopedia), told them which characters they wanted to use, and let them go nuts.

I know I might get flamed for this but I love how Storm sorta looks like her X3 incarnation here*as I think she looks the best in that* but I hate the rest*especially Wolverine he just looks...well lame*

You do realise DC rips off Marvel just as much right?*look at at the Black Canary/Green Arrow wedding and tne whole Batman "dying" debacles*that's why I'm very reluctant to buy comics these days*the new Venom series will be the first book I've got in awhile* that and most of the characters I do like end up getting shafted by the editorial.*Cassandra Cain*
