MAN OF STEEL - Talk UP!

You assume that people give a crap about the comics at all when watching movies based on the comics. I mean I have read all the comics based on these and the marvel movies, and I could care less what the comics do. The movies are their own thing.

That's so disrepectful it hurt to read. That's like saying if the american's got their hands on your favorite toku and shitted all on it you wouldn't give a ****. The source is what made way for the live-action so why wouldn't you show it respect? I don't give a crap what joe blow thinks...i'm talking about us in the fantasy world. The general audience hasn't spent 1000 of dollars on comics and toku...we have. So in that respect your ass should have more respect for the source. Hence me using the word "poser". If you were any kinda fan of comics you couldn't have come outta your mouth with some BS like that. Go watch Superman Returns and be happy.

-Love the fact they spent time on Krypton and showing its atmosphere/creatures etc (admit it...they can make a prequel out of Jor-El and Zod kicking ass in their younger years and exploring space together)
-Love the environmental affect of Earth and Krypton getting the best of Superman, Zod and his groupies
-The movie has the potential to go all out cosmic already thanks to the Space Exploration of Krypton.

When Jor-El called for his winged pet I almost lost it, and then when he jumped off of it into the water it cemented Jor-El into badass status. The way Jor-El handled Zod in hand to hand combat was one of the highlights of the film. It gave me the honey glow something fierce when he came back as a computer program lmfao. Indeed, it made so much sense that Zod would have a problem adapting to our environment, but it was even more badass to see Zod adapt so quickly. When he shed his armor and started to hover it gave me chill bumps. From the first scene to the last, this movie made me smile from ear to ear.

For the first time ever I have been truly blown away by a Superman movie. Man of Steel is an incredible action packed movie that finally showcases the power of Superman and how much damage it can do to the environment around him. The movie is not perfect, as there could have been more plot to it, but it did not forget that it was a super hero movie first and foremost. In fact, I felt there were a lot of nods taken from J Michael Straczynski's Superman Earth One books that have been release over the last few years, which are some of the greatest Superman stories I have ever read. The music while it is not the precious John Williams score everyone has praised over the last 30 years, it is well done and fully fits the mood of what is going on on the screen. Zod is done exceptionally well, especially his back story that makes him something different than just the goon he was in the Reeves movies. Amy Adams turned out to be an excellent snarky Lois and Henry Cavil was incredible as Superman. Even the guy they got to play Professor Hamilton was done well. Outside of wanting a little bit more in the plot area, there are some weird editing choices that confused me a bit, but my biggest complaint is the lack of anything after the credits. Other than that minor nitpick, this is hands down the best Superman movie ever. I just hope that whatever DC plans in the future, they do it right and not jack it up. Overall, I give the movie a solid 8/10 and is easily tied with Star Trek as the best movie of the year.

I'll just copy and paste what I said over on facebook

Saw the Man of Steel today. Granted I'm mainly a Marvel guy but I thought it was alright. The visuals were interesting and I'm glad they stayed true to Superman's nature in this "grim & gritty" (I am so sick of that term) world. But I'm not sure the story is going to hold up over time.

Are you 12 years old? I mean seriously. :sly::redface2:

I don't care about the comics I USED to read. I am fine with any and all changes they make to comic movies. If you want the comics, you have them. That said, I still didn't like this movie for the reasons I already stated.

Do you really think a twelve year old writes like me? Grow up and learn some new insults fool. From now on your comments are filed under dog ****.

End of line.

You have just described my and many other Sentai fan's relationship with Power Rangers haha. And it's true. We don't give a ****, or at least I don't. When I see an episode of Gekiranger and see the corresponding episode of Jungle Fury, I don't think that Jungle Fury is terrible just because it's not Gekiranger. I think it's terrible for many other reasons, but not because I want it to be Geki.

Man of Steel was more entertaining than any of Batman flicks, and every Marvel flicks to date except The Avengers. :patriotic::patriotic:

I wouldn't. I used to, and then I realized how damn stupid that mentality is. If "Americans" got their hands on my favorite toku(they already have), I wouldn't care. I can still watch the toku. Having it done up over here doesn't make the original vanish.
