Hey guys.
I used to play all the time, but i stopped around Time Shift.
I have a **** load of cards, mostly from Onslaught - Ravanica, and i'm sure a few of my decks still live somewhere in there.

I ran TONS of decks, averaging 15 per block but come Ravanica, i only had 2 done, A Black/Red Goblin Deck with tons of removers and a Blue/Black Mill deck. I was working on some Red/White deck when i quit Magic.

I quit mostly because of the costs of getting cards i needed (some, like the Red/White Sorcery Lighting Helix was in VERY high demand and was frakking expensive) and because most of the people i played with moved off.

is understandable, they are expensive when that **** is new and fresh, but once they circle out of standard, they tend to drop. also when friends quite sucks. but my friends and I have a card pool, we all got jobs and we put money together to buy 2-4 boxes of the new set to get all the cards, soon after we share cards that we need, we decide what colors to play, and help each other out. we also try to get good deals on ebay, late at night you can get good deals for magic cards.

Thats one thing i never like about Magic was the Type 2 format.

It is pretty much the only one ranked tournaments used, They only have 2 blocks and whatever the current Core set is legal at any one time and as soon as a new block starts the older one is knocked out, so some of your decks aren't usable anymore.

Then you can only use those in T1.5 and Legacy, and everyone who plays in those formats Proxies like 4 Black Lotus's and other Power 9 cards like crazy.

I'm not saying ill never take it up again, i might, but not within the next while.

well power of 9 is banned from any kind of format
standard covers 2 years of magic, that is equal to 5-6 sets and a core set, so about 7 sets.
extended goes to 4 years of sets
and legacy is everything, unless is not banned.
there is also no mana burn.

while extended is from scars of mirrodin to myrrowin.
