Well I just saw the ABC Version, personally I think its a pretty good adaptation of the BBC version, and by pretty good I mean attempting to copy it scene for scene with tweaks here and there to make it fit the setting and such. Hell even some of the character look very much like their BBC counterparts. I still prefer the BBC Version but there's only been one episode of the ABC version, so I'll have to wait really before I can truly make that judgement.

My only gripes with the ABC Version is that the guy who is playing Sam (I forget his name) does not really bring a great performance as much as John Simm did for the character in the BBC version.

According to interviews, they're going to be diverging from the original soon. Makes sense considering that the entire UK series is less than one US season.

Well in total the series is a little more than one US Season. Its 16 Episodes, 8 Episodes a season, and a fantastic ending.

Depends on if it gets picked up for a full season. The first 13 episodes are all confirmed adaptations of the UK series, but the back 9 might not be.
