Game soundtracks often don’t get the spotlight they deserve, but seriously, which ones have left a lasting impact on you? Personally, I think the scores from games like "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" and "Final Fantasy VII" are masterpieces that truly enhance the storytelling and emotional beats of those games.

The haunting melodies of "Zelda" really set the mood for adventure, while "FFVII" has tracks that have haunted me in the best way possible, especially "Aerith's Theme." The way music pulls you deeper into the narrative is just incredible!

for me, Chrono Trigger has the best soundtrack ever. Those melodies stick in your head forever – Lavos theme is epic, and the sadness in Corridors of Time just pulls at your heart. I play the OST on repeat when working. Indie wise, Undertale surprised me big time. Toby Fox's music mixes chiptune with emotion perfectly, like Megalovania pumps you up for boss fights. It's simple but powerful. Games need more soundtracks like these that tell stories without words. What makes Zelda stand out is how the music changes with time of day, super immersive. FFVII does the same with rock and orchestral mix. Chrono Trigger blends eras too. Undrtale proves indies can compete with giants. Listening now makes me want to replay all of them this weekend.

Silent Hill 2 soundtrack is still the king of atmosphere for me. Akira Yamaoka's mix of creepy industrial drones, distorted guitars, and those fragile piano pieces like "Promise" or "Theme of Laura" gets under your skin in the best way. It doesn't just play in the background – it becomes the feeling of being lost in fog, hearing static and distant screams. Compared to FFVII's big emotional swells, Silent Hill keeps everything small, broken, and personal. Aerith's Theme is heartbreaking, sure, but SH2 makes heartbreak feel dangerous. I put the OST on at 2 a.m. with headphones, and it still gives me that same uneasy chill years later. Yamaoka turns normal sounds – water dripping, metal creaking – into pure horror. Indies try to copy this vibe now, but the original hits different. Replay the game just to sit in the apartments listening. No other soundtrack lives in your head like this one does. Perfect for dark moods or when you want music that actually unsettles you.

I live for those raw 8-bit chiptunes from the old days. B Santana theme from Heavyweight Champ Soundtrack is an earworm that never left my brain.
