"Shocker Gundan, Banzai!"
Congrats to Barrie, aka Devvilboy, who won First Place in the 7th Annual Anime Cosplay Contest as part of Japantown's Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco (sponsored by Japan Video & Media)! There were over 47 entries, and after six years, the first Tokusatsu costume ever in the contest, took top honors today!
Barrie in his Kamen Rider Ryuki costume rode at the bow of Japan Video & Media's float in the Grand Parade, from City Hall to Japantown, closing this year's Cherry Blossom Festival! At one point, three Japanese children ran alongside the float, calling out "Ryuki! Ryuki!"!
I wonder if there will be more Toku costumes next year...?
