I’m very interested in the Gachiakuta anime adaptation. I’ve been following the manga since its early chapters, and it has a unique visual identity that I always thought would translate well into animation. Seeing that Hideyoshi Andou, the graffiti designer, is involved in both the manga and anime gives me hope that the aesthetic won’t be lost in transition. Live drawings are always cool, but what I’m looking forward to most is hearing them talk about the inspirations behind their work. Sometimes those Q&A sessions reveal surprising details, like the reasoning behind certain character designs or story arcs. As for the US premiere of two episodes, I’m a little jealous of those who can attend in person. It’s also good to know that Bones is producing the anime, which gives me confidence in the animation quality. This is a project I’ll definitely keep my eyes on. I also hope they announce a physical release or streaming partner soon.
