I think everyone is way overreacting and just needs to calm down.
Most of the people that jump on to say "They ruined it" for any Hollywood anime project right from get go is just the dumb misguided childish fanbase that hates everything that isn't animated by a team of Japanese guys.
I agree with Dami? Oh, dear Lord...I for one am happy. Why? Because from what I've heard those involved including Keanu are fans and wanna see a good movie made. Sure there is some stuff I didn't like him in, but there is stuff I did.
Aesthetically does he fit the role? Yeah. But I'm not, nor is anyone besides himself qualified to speak on the characterization and mood he'll bring to Spike. We'll just have to wait and see.
I hate, absolutely hate all this "omg they ruined it!1!", "this is gonna suck", "they should all die!" crap within what? A month of the movie being officially announced, and a day of the actors announcement? That's crap.
He isn't writing or directing it, and even then he's still a fan of the series so he might have some sensibility to throw into this project. Don't be so negative so early. That being said I really wouldn't choose him for Spike but I'd pick him over a lot of other actors.
Wasn't it confirmed from the other interview that the story was pretty much the first couple of episodes stretched out?
