Kamen Rider Survey Form [For Statistical Analysis)

1. Best Series:
• W
Reason for choice: W had the best protagonists (Shotaro and Philip), great suit design and a wonderful ending.

2. Worst Series
• Decade
Reason for choice: Did not like the main character, the AU storylines or the suit designs.

3. Best Main Hero:
• Shotaro Hidari/Phillip - W
Reason for choice: These two really complemented each other well and worked together as team better than anyone else on the list.

4. Worst Main Hero:
• Tsukasa Kadoya - Decade
Reason for choice: A jerk all around and had little to no development.

5. Best Secondary Hero: (please specify): Date-Birth
Reason for choice: His attitude towards being a Kamen Rider, his general positive attitude and constant smile makes him my favorite.

6. Worst Secondary Hero: (please specify): Kaixa
Reason for choice: Love the suit design but he’s a bit of a jerk the entire time (although I kind of like that).

7. Best Type of Antagonists:
• Gurongi (Kuuga)
Reason for choice: Suit designs, moving mouths, completely new language and unknown motives make these guys my favorite.

8. Worst Type of Antagonists:
• A.R. Kamen Riders (Decade)
Reason for choice: The fact they changed the actors, worlds, etc. did not sit well with me to be honest.

9. Best Main Antagonist:
• Doctor Maki/Kyoryu Greeed (OOO)
Reason for choice: Maki was all around weird and his motives never really made sense. But he was creepy, funny and a bit of a badass near the end. Plus the fact he was human makes him a bit different than the other main antagonists.

10. Worst Main Antagonist:
• N-Daguva-Zeba (Kuuga)
Reason for choice: No real set up for his character, you barely see him in the show and his final battle with Kuuga is so anti-climatic.

11. Best Male Non-Rider Character: (please specify) Ankh-OOO
Reason for choice: I loved Ankh. He was a jerk. He didn’t care about humans. But he was just so awesome and he redeems himself in the end.

12. Worst Male Non-Rider Character: (please specify) JK-Fourze
Reason for choice: I never liked JK. He was annoying, a bit flamboyant and he never really did much.

13. Best Female Non-Rider Character: (please specify) Hana from Den-O
Reason for choice: She’s a badass, you feel sorry for her situation and she supports Ryoutaro at all times.

14. Worst Female Non-Rider Character: (please specify) Akiko from W
Reason for choice: Annoying from the get go and doesn’t really change throughout the show (though she does have her moments).

15. Why do you love the Kamen Rider Series? The characters are typically likeable and well developed, the story lines are typically always interesting and the action is typically fun to watch.

4. Worst Main Hero:
Tsukasa Kadoya - Decade
Reason for choice: A jerk all around

6. Worst Secondary Hero: (please specify): Kaixa
Reason for choice: [..] but he’s a bit of a jerk the entire time

11. Best Male Non-Rider Character:
(please specify) Ankh-OOO
Reason for choice: I loved Ankh. He was a jerk.

So, do you like jerks or hate them? :sly:

Results so far (as of 17 Sep 2012)

Hi guys! Thanks to all those who responded! Here are the results of the survey so far:

1. Best Series:
Kamen Rider W (3 votes)

My reaction: The uniqueness of the series makes it stand out from the rest. The 1st 2-in-1 rider, the fictional setting of Futo, and the overall main story was what attracted most KR fans. It stood out because it was fresh, something that hasn't been done before.

2. Worst Series:
Kamen Rider Kiva (5 votes)

My reaction: I was actually expecting this or Den-O to be the worst (Den-O had 0 votes). Most of KR fans are boys, and boys hate drama, and Kiva was a drama series masquerading as a KR series. I loved Kiva's suits though, and the vampire theme was wicked.

3. Best Main Hero:
A tie between Yusuke Godai (Kamen Rider Kuuga) and Shotaro Hidari/Phillip (Kamen Rider W) with 4 votes each

My reaction: These two (not including Phillip) embodied a true man: a good guy with principles, and everybody loves a guy like that.

4. Worst Main Hero:
Tsukasa Kadoya (Kamen Rider Decade) with 3 votes

My reaction: Decade's bad writing didn't help Tsukasa's rep, so yeah it was the writer's fault, not Tsukasa's. Decade could've been better.

5. Best Secondary Hero:
Kagami Arata (Kamen Rider Gattack) with 3 votes

My reaction: Yeah! I love Kagami too. He can make you laugh and kick your ass at the same time.

"Every day... Before a mirror... The man who washes his face! I am! Arata! Kagami!"

6. Worst Secondary Hero:
Masato Kusaka (Kamen Rider Kaixa) with 7 votes

My reaction: Nobody likes a manipulating bastard. And a douche. And he's all that.

7. Best Type of Antagonists:
Gurongi from Kuuga (5 votes)

My reaction: Rider enemies these days have cool suits and costumes, and instead of being afraid of them, you'll just say "Wow, that's cool!" The Gurongi reminded me of the Showa era's enemies, scary.. and sometimes funny at the same time.

8. Worst Type of Antagonists:
A.R. Kamen Riders from Decade (4 votes)

My reaction: Again, all Decade's writer's fault. Another Rider World? Meh.

9. Best Main Antagonist:
Shiro Kanzaki from Ryuki (6 votes)

My reaction: Shiro was a breath of fresh air. A human, manipulating the events of Ryuki, going to extreme lengths, just to save his little sister. Sister complex. That's scary right there.

10. Worst Main Antagonist:
Narutaki from Decade (7 votes)

My reaction: I don't even know why Decade's official website and Wikipedia says Narutaki is Decade's main antagonist. I just don't get it...

11. Best Male Non-Rider Character:
Ankh from OOO (9 votes)

My reaction: No surprises here. I also love Ankh. His character was soo well written, he could star in his own series.

12. Worst Male Non-Rider Character:
Eritate Kengo from Kiva (3 votes)

My reaction: Eritate was just sooo irritating. See how it sounds alike?

13. Best Female Non-Rider Character:
Ozawa Sumiko from Agito (5 votes)

My reaction: I didn't watch Agito, so i can't react here.

14. Worst Female Non-Rider Character:
Mio Suzuki from Kiva (2008's Queen) with 3 votes

My reaction: I loved 1986's Queen more. Mio was just pathetic to begin with.

Keep the answers coming! Thanks again:buttrock:

So, what you're saying is, it's not Decade's fault? Narutaki is looking lamer and lamer.

Well, yeah. "His" fault too (Narutaki). Great actor, lamest portrayal of a villain ever, it makes me laugh than quiver in fear:laugh:

In my opinion, Decade had potential, but the writer screwed it up with a horrific storyline, the final form rides, and the A.R. Riders. They should've done it like what they did in Gokaiger, brought the old actors back. That would've been sweet, and would've saved it even if it had a crappy story.

Honestly, I don't think bringing back the old actors would've saved the show from a crappy story. Plus, using the original riders instead of AR ones would probably have Decade teaming up after the ending of each show, and by that point those guys would be using their Super forms as their "default" transformation. And that would have Decade be even more ridiculously powerful, or else he'd be kinda useless.

But anyway, seeing actors you recognize doesn't make a terribly-written show good.

I did say "it would've saved it even if it had a crappy story." I meant it would still have a crappy story, though it would be more bearable to watch if they only had the old actors back.

Honesty, the only Decade episodes i watched were the first episode, the episodes guest starred by the original actors like Tetsuo Kurata (KR Black), Kouhei Takeda (Kurenai Otoya), and Takayuki Tsubaki (KR Blade), Diend's intro episode, and the finale. Seeing these actors again made me interested in watching their episodes. Oh, and let's not forget the Decade-Shinkenger crossover:)
