Oh, wow, a Ryuki thread's near the top.
Well, this was the latest pre-Decade Heisei Rider I'd finished, a couple of weeks ago, and I must say I rather enjoyed it. It had its rough and slow spots, but the characters were well-executed (my favorites of the "good guys" were the Zolda and Goro duo) and once things started heating up I was glued to the show wondering what was going to happen and who was going to die next.
And yes, Ouja made the damn show for me too. Even if "vexed" is a somewhat strange word for him to be repeating, his delivery via body language and tone conveyed the message to me loud and clear. Dude was a psycho, loved destruction, got pissed because he could. No explanation was needed, we already knew he was a murderer of the highest order. He
made the battle royale happen every time it looked like the show was about to start running in place.
The show ending I'm of two minds about, if ONLY because if I were writing it, I'd've had it end just
before the reset button got pushed. Nice, fun, fitting dark ending.
I haven't watched the movies yet, so...
