I'd actually like to see Anhk not become complete and for him to permanently merge with Shingo, that way we can see the birth of a third rider, eh that's just my theory....

He keeps leaving Shingo... I don't think Shingo is recovering and Ankh keeps leaving him, so Shingo might die if he keeps doing this.

Shingo is already near death. Ankh just so happens stops that certain death but if he leaves Shingo he dies in 10 minutes. Ankh is the only thing that is stopping his death. I don't think Ankh constantly leaving will cause him to die. But of course Shingo could already be dead and Ankh is just making up lies.

It depends on the nature of the possession. Is Ankh is acting as some kind of magical "death clock" stopping device with Shingo's time gradually ticking away to zero? Or is he acting more like a life support system, keeping his heart beating and his secondary functions going while his consciousness remains in a vegetative state?

If it's the latter it doesn't seem like it would matter how many times you "pull the plug," just as long as the body is in a state where it can be resuscitated afterwards.

Ankh did say that he can leave Shingo for a maximum of ten minutes or so at a time, so I would guess it's the latter. He keeps Shingo alive but if his 'healing energies' or whatnot are away for too long the body proceeds to die.

Birth could be a female. In the scans, it shows a chibi Birth with ^.^ eyes, but maybe I'm over-thinking this.

Also, I think that slowly, Ankh and Shingo will become one. Shingo's feelings and personality will fuse with Ankh's while Ankh's Greeed arm slowly rejuvenates Shingo's body. Then we will see a new being, a fusion of Ankh and Shingo who will have all the pros of being a Greeed/Human with none of the cons.

Sort of like Vegitto or XTREEEEEEEEEEEEME.
