Hmm, I think either the puppet or Maki may be something similar to Nobunaga in Movie Taisen Core, like Maki being an artificial body, and the puppet holding his brain or something.

On the contrary, I quite like Decade's premise, it's just the execution that sucked.

By time travel, I meant Den-O. But then again I like Den-O too, even more so than Decade.
