My problem with Blade's ending wasn't that Kenzaki became a kaijin, but the fact that the most gritting characters got the best endings, while the more sympathetic ones got shafted.

I think that's part of the whole idea to make us feel sympathy for the characters. Eiji's situation pretty much runs from bad to worse and you get the feeling his life could have been a lot better if he had people like Hina, Date, and Goto around a lot earlier in it.

But hey, at least we might get to see the hero's monster form this time around, that should be interesting.
