Actually, Grappler is exactly right.

I'll say it again. I have no problem if you want to quote a small select part of it followed by a link so people can read the rest. Like so:

If you're quoting from a personal site, blog, journal, whatever... that usually the nice thing to do. It's free advertising and I've problem with that.

What I do have a problem with is that the whole thing is basically quoted right there. And it's my own thoughts from my own site (which I pay for) and it's making reference to things which aren't there on your board (like when I say "see below" or refer to a picture.) So it really just looks confusing and visitors to your site aren't going to find it very professional-looking. If you need to quote a whole passage, why not do it from a site like Wikipedia which is free and open anyway? I'm flattered that you like my site so much, but if you really want to show your appreciation, then please just follow my simple little request.

Look, I'm very happy that you have the decency to credit where it comes from and provide a link as is, but I just don't think the whole write-up needs to be quoted. You obviously have a lot of talent with all those custom banners and such, and I think most people would much rather see your thoughts or summaries than mine again.

I would appreciate the free advertising very much so, and in return I'd add your link to the sites affiliates, but I'm not so sure it'll get your site many visitors, because right now we're only a measly 3 members.
