“I can’t believe I would meet you here!” The man said excited “Out here while I am on an adventure!”
“Right now there’s something going on out there” The other said trying to figure out what has been happening. “The others must be getting ready as well...”
Wow he is really serious... The other nodded and scratched his head. He placed his hand on the symbol that was on the front of his bike. “Looks like you and I have to fight once more”
A red mechanical beetle hovered near the other man and he nodded. He too knew that a new fight is coming too.
“Well!” The other said stretching “Let’s do this together!” The man stretched out his arm and gave the other thumbs up before smiling. The other smiled before turning away and looking at the ocean.
“Godai...” The young man said “You really do love smiles...”
Shinjuku – Japan
“I am sorry...” Shinji said comforting Aya
“He will be back...” Aya said “He promised...”
“I know someone just like you...” Shinji said “He lost everything including his parents”
Aya looked up at Shinji as he told his story.
“But he did not give up.”
“What did he do?” Aya asked
“He didn’t give up on himself and continued to live on.”
Aya smiled and nodded, her confidence was renewed. Shinji got up to leave and Aya showed him the way out. Before leaving Shinji told her to not give up and soon left.
Aya sat back down and smiled.
10 minutes later
“Touching...” Snarled a voice from the shadows as it manifested “You want to see your brother?”
Shinji stopped his scooter immediately. He felt something strange while he was in Aya’s house. He felt this exact feeling when he fought the new enemy a few days ago. Damn it! Shinji turned around and raced off back to where Aya was.
Aya screamed as the shadow fully manifested into a humanoid spider stone gargoyle monster. Aya backed herself into a wall as it approached her. “Come...” It snarled ”For a family re-union”
“Damn you!” A voiced shouted and soon the monster was tackled away from Aya
“Shinji!” Aya shouted
Shinji took out his advent deck and a buckle appeared on his waist “I...” Shinji slid the deck into his buckle and it flashed “I still have things I need to protect...”
“Henshin!”
Shinji dived at the Spider Gargoyle and both of them smashed through the window and landed outside. Shinji punched it in the head before it shook him off and gained some distance. Aya followed them outside and watched the battle.
“Pathetic” It said “Can you really protect something? Humans do not deserve their life”
“Life is important...” Shinji said as he grabbed the monster as it pounced into the air and threw him away “I will fight to protect life!”
The Spider Gargoyle monster jumped onto a lamp post and growled at Shinji as if it was taunting him.
“You are going to ruin their family reunion?” The monster hissed at Shinji.
“What?” Shinji replied before he heard a scream and he looked at where it came from and he saw Aya being lifted up by the throat by a man. Shinji tried to run at them but the Spider Gargoyle shot a string of web which attached itself onto Shinji’s arm and it pulled him away.
“Br-brother...” Aya said as she tried to breathe “Why...”
The man stayed emotionless as he watched her struggle. Shinji was being trapped by the web but he watched it happening. He tried to break through but it didn’t work.
“That’s your sister!” Shinji screamed as he broke through the web with rage and slid a card into the DragVisor and a sword came down from the sky.
“Quiet!” The Spider Gargoyle said as it jumped at Shinji.
“Shut up!” Shinji turned and slashed the monster and took an arm off. The arm dropped to the ground and dissolved. The monster backed away as it was in pain.
A buckle appeared on the man’s waist and with flash, armour formed on him and a mask hid his face. The crimson round compound eyes were still lit up and his body was covered with shadows hiding his appearance. Rain started to pour down onto the city.
“It’s...” Aya said as she tried to smile “It’s ok if you kill me...”
The man watched as he was about to kill his very own sister, he noticed her eyes were starting to water up. He did not know what to feel. Did he know emotions? What is he doing?
“Just don’t give up and keep living on...” A tear dropped from Aya’s eye and it landed on his fingers that were around her throat. “Turn that promise of protecting me for other people in this world...”
What is this...? Juugou Kazuya thought as more drops landed on his fingers and soon it was all drenched in tears. Something changed in Juugou, something like a force trying to break free. Soon he could see what he was doing and his own will had returned. The menacing crimson compound eyes turned off and he dropped Aya.
“Kazuya!” Shinji screamed as a long spike went through his arm. Shinji screamed in pain but he managed to turn around and throw his sword at the monster and it stabbed straight into its chest.
Emotions... Juugou thought as he looked at the drop of tear on his hand before he clenched it into a fist. The shadows around him cleared away and it revealed his entire appearance. He was a masked armoured figure. He was mostly black but with some purple, silver and red. His head was shaped like a beetle and had a red muffler that hung down till near his waist. A promise...
“What are you doing?” The monster said as it jumped down from the lamp post and back onto the ground “You are one of us!”
“Do not...” Juugou said as he looked at Aya who lay on the ground “Lump me in with you guys!”
The monster was angered as it jumped at Juugou. A golden L appeared on his right chest armour as his eyes lit up once more. Juugou turned and raised his arm at the monster and a long thin but sharp sword extended from his wrist and it went straight into the monster’s weak chest. “Legend...” The monster said weakly as it started to dissolve.
“DARKNESS will destroy you...”
Juugou grabbed it by the throat, pulled it out of the sword and threw it into the air where it exploded. Smoke covered the area as remains of the gargoyle fell and dissolved mid-air.
Shinji struggled as he tried to stand with his injured body. Such brutality... He thought as he witnessed the battle. Shinji picked up the buckle remains of the monster and read it "Darkness..."
The smoke cleared and Juugou’s armour disappeared as he bent down, picking Aya up. He went through his memories and finally remembered what he said to Aya years ago. Something he said he would do.
“A promise I have to keep...”
