Well, I just finished Kuuga and I feel... underwhelmed. I mean, the last episode itself was great because it was a nice thought out epilogue, but what the hell happened in 47 and 48? Fourty-seven starts out who knows how long after the ending of 46, which really throws you off, but the final battle was so lackluster. "Let's have the final villlain, who has absolutely no development at all in the series, have a punching fight with Yusuke in the snow and then end it with them falling over. No choreography, no in suit action, not even a rider kick or an explosion. Oh, and in the mean time, the Rose Lady, who has been in the series since the beginning, gets killed by a bullet, making her the most useless character in the entire series. Yes, this is the best idea we can come up with." WHAT THE FLYING ****?! Talk about a way to leave the final episode of a great series lacking. Except for those two episodes, the show was very great. I enjoyed the designs, the Grongi were well done, I liked the whole game concept, but damn, you would think Japan would barely have anyone left alive to live there after this. The characters were great, interesting, and funny. They were well thought out and really added to the show and to Yusuke's character. However, since it is in similar tone, I do have to say I think Agito is the better of the two series, because I just think the development of Shuichi tramples the development of Yusuke by miles. Yusuke was pretty much the same guy through the entire series, but Shuichi's amnesia really helped his character stand out. Not to mention Gills helped to add a bit of variety to the way the battles were played out over the course of the series. With just Kuuga, sometimes, the battles got a little boring because he would use the same attacks over. It was also weird seeing him get his last form in the second to last story arc, and then he didn't even actually doing anything with it. Once again, I enjoyed the series a lot, I can see why it made Kamen Rider popular again, but the little things really drag it down a notch. I give it a 3.5/5 stars.

Oh yeah, and I watched Episode 46.5, thinking that would bridge the gap of what happened inbetween 46 and 47. NOPE!! It is just another clip show.

It was a long time ago that I saw Kuuga but...

The final battle is perfect for what it is supposed to be. There is a meaning behind it. I thought it was chilling, something different. It doesn't need to have explosions and effects to be, well, effective. The fight is full of emotion. Someone here on this board can probably explain better.

The rose lady... I can kind of agree with. But still, it is left a mystery which I kind of like.

Remember, Kuuga isn't the usual toku. People are still obsessed about his "final form not being in action". Well, that's the point. It's the ultimate form, it wasn't supposed to be used really. It could've destroyed the world. And Godai had plenty of developement. He wasn't just happy go lucky, I hope you didn't think that was the only thing about him.

Anyway, like I said. Someone could probably explain better. Or you could just read the Kuuga topic :) We have one "after series" for OOO as well!

Kuuga was definitively underwhelming and overrated by the fanbase...

their was only two things I liked...

The fight choreography, it felt like a stuggle, but it felt like most of the time it was just the suit actor just moving into the flow, it didn't really feel real.

the bad...

Too many damn transformations, seriously... I could understand up to the rising forms, but once that black kuuga came about and then... nothing, one scene and that was it, only to be upstaged by ultimate form (now maybe this is harsh on my end, I like most was mad that they didn't show the first fight between kuuga and 0).

The monsters were terrible, none of them interesting - stopped caring for their plans around the middle of the show, only one I liked was the cross dresser. and number 0 was over-hyped through out the whole show, but that w

Godai... worst rider protagonist ever... okay, I liked the character's personality, I'm a sucker for the always smiling-type of character... but aside from that he is nearly as one dimensional as Goku from Dragon Ball Z, and that's saying alot. There never was a threat that he would lose himself to the black eyes, it was so anti-climatic it hurt. Wished Godai died after the final fight, would of made me feel something for the character. Ichijouji would of made a better protagonist

There wasn't even a risk to Godai losing, the belt is the worst piece of Dues ex machina

Having some highly choreographed or over the top action and a fancy finisher would have worked against the brutality of that fight. All their techniques were useless at that point because they were each other's equal, so the only way to go was to beat the other to death. It was intentionally raw because it was purely a fight to the death. Maybe it was just 2deep4u.

While I can see what you guys mean about the purpose of the fight, not having the "main villain" developed is where my biggest issue comes from. If they had spent time building this dude up, allowing us to know his personality, who he is, and seeing him actually fight Kuuga the first time, the final battle would have worked for me much better. Instead, it seemed out of place. Like why is a Grongi fighting in human form? Was it to match Kuuga losing his transformation? Was he a human the entire time? There is just too much information missing about No. 0.

Well let's face it, he got more character than a lot of other big bads.

And even the villains who DO get screen time don't tend to use it well. (Great Leader)

Yeah I'm kinda guilty of this:laugh:

I watched Decade before Kuuga, and when I saw Ultimate Kuuga I was like "Damn that looks cool! I bet the original Kuuga uses that form all the time." Then I watch all of Kuuga and when the final form appears, I was like "The show is almost over and all he did in that form was punch a kid to death....wheres that giant end of the world explosion!!?"

It's a good show though, but man I wanted to see Ultimate Kuuga kick all kinds of ass in the show:disappoin

From my interpretation the transitioning back and forth between their human form and supernatural form is to remind us of the brutality of men but also how sad it is to fight each other. These are core themes of the show.

Hehe yeah, while I liked how it was presented in the show, I've always kind of wanted to see a rider kick from ultimate. That's why I was so excited about Decade... but yeah, they toned him down alot :( His kick was supposed to be able to break the earth in half afterall.

All the older Riders were really watered down for Decade, which is understandable since they weren't the real deals.
