Kamen Rider Gagaga Ghost - Episode 6

I predicted that the stand-by noise would be inaccurate to the show! Unlike the Sengoku Driver, the belt has no way of telling which Rider you are other than the Eyecon itself. Not to mention the number of horns and the gimmick figures.

Ok.

- This episode in one line: "Let's make Takeru seem even more like an incompetent wimp".
- Toys-to-show inconsistencies, yay!
- Akari is now the most well developed character in the show. Also the only one that actually acts like a human being.
- The Ore Ghost scaring Akari right before the Henshin was priceless.
- So Specter isn't dead then? I suppose he isn't since he wasn't able to see Takeru after he ghosted out after their first encounter.
- Ok Toei, let's NEVER make a mute fight ever again, ok? Ok.
- So Beethoven Damashii is pretty much useless, eh?
- I have to agree with Alan, I understand even less what Makoto's plans are.

It was a quite good episode for the development of almost all secondary characters. I wish they could kill Takeru and get a new, more charismatic character to be the main on the show but he is already dead. Oh well.

IMO thread title should be Gogogo Ghost, since the Gagaga archetype has no ghost xD

People already guessed since the start that he's not dead, due to his Rider costume showing EKG lines, while Ghost's shows bones :)

I love and respect the yugioh refrence, as well this episoe was pretty well done. If they can keep doing this level of storytelling it will enhance the show. But seriously I do enjoy the show.

I actually thought the same thing with Shinnosuke when Drive first aired. Honestly, Kouta was the last lead character that I liked from the very beginning in both recent Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. (Takaharu is the worst)

I prefer the first 6 episodes of Ghost so much more than Drive because this episode shows that the writers are already building up to something and not just spinning their wheels. I'm glad we're diving into Specter already and he's not like early Mashin Chaser where his only function was to be filler that lets a monster escape to stretch into a 2 episode arc.
I feel like a lot of the complaints many had for Ghost, myself included, weren't really present in this episode. Hopefully, Takeru doesn't fall into this slump again though.

Yeah. I was dreading this episode, but Akari and Onari were finally a welcome presence again. I liked it a lot.

I'm kind of disappointed Takeru didn't call himself out on letting Akari save the Musashi Eyecon by herself and Spectre still annoys the hell out of me, though. He's a way less entertaining version of Machine Chaser so far.

What's Akari's relationship to Spectre? He seems to know her. Also, last episode we were having hints of Akari getting ESP. Did they drop it this episode?

IMO, he's more similar to early season Terui (minus the penchant for police brutality) ...

I think the idea is just that despite her skepticism she has a sensitivity to spirits? As opposed to Onari who thus far seems less able to detect their presence

It's likely that Makoto and Akari knew each other as children, because (preview spoilers below; some people hate that apparently)

From the preview, it can be seen that Takeru's father worked with Mysterious Man on creating the Eyecons; and that somehow Makoto and his sister were caught up in this, leading to her becoming an Eyecon. If Makoto knew Takeru's father, he would probably know or at least know of Takeru, so it's plausible he would have met Akari

I smell another Kaito x Mai relationship from Makoto and Akari. I hope it will be executed better this time if they try to make something special out of those two. Kaito wants Mai was really forced to me

Good point. Does feel like a nice build up.
