Yep, it looks to be as bad as I thought it would be. Acting sucks. It's basically Saban, but with higher production values. I get the same kind of feeling I do watching Chaiyo's Project Ultraman trailer, only this was officially sanctioned by Toei. Once again, the Masked Riders are about to be badly misintroduced . . . if this pilot actually makes it!

I never liked Ryuuki (where it really started to get out of hand). But this is worse. This Americanization crap is really wearing thin.

So, do you just hate all adaptations that try to be different because that somehow means there's a secret agenda against the Asian culture? How does this "misintroduce" them? I'm not going to say it's as great as people think it is, but it does look pretty interesting. It should get lots of children to like it. If you don't like it, don't watch it. It's going to have no affect at all on the Japanese stuff, so you've got no reason to complain. Unless you really believe yourself when you say that Americans hate Asian culture and crap.

Let's be honest with ourselves. Those who like this trailer or at least find it interesting do so because yeah, it's flashy and nice-looking and has special effects all over the place (at least I think so). We're superficial that way. But first impressions count; it's a start because people will at least be interested in delving deeper, even if the first impression leaves a bad taste to some. You can't gauge the pwnage potential or mediocrity of a series just by a production trailer like that. We'll only know just how much depth and substance it has when we actually see it in its entirety, at which point we can then debate about it.

I'm happy with the trailer. I don't care if the acting isn't Oscar-standard, the series' job is just to entertain its viewers. Plus this series is obviously geared towards kids with guys like "General Zaviax". Kids don't really care about good acting or stuff like that. They just see the general plot: Bad guy kidnaps civilians; good guys transform to cool-looking heroes and defeat him.

At least wait until this series actually airs and watch it before proclaiming it's crap. I just don't see how some people can just watch a few minutes of footage and just KNOW it's gonna be shitty.

Meh, I'm not liking the vibes that are coming off that trailer. Still, even though I may not like it, for the sake of Kamen Rider exposure in the West, I hope it's picked up and I hope it's successful.

I may find myself hating the entire season... but if it does well as a whole, who am I to complain?

Well, IMO the "men" part of "Kamen" should be pronounced like how Tsurugi says "La Men" when referring to ramen (another way to look at it is how you would describe a groups of males, aka "men"). The guys in the trailer were pronouncing it more like "common", as in "the common cold". For me personally, it's a noticeable difference.
