According to official Ranger Strike, Amazon isn't a Mystic Rider, but the first of a group of Wild Beast Riders. They listed Black as the first of the Mystic Riders. But the "operation" which Yamamoto/Amazon underwent did look mystical to a certain extent.

I don't think Ranger Strike is a very good way to classify these things. Those terms they made up for the game (and originally for Sentai stuff no less) were created long after some of the shows, so I don't think of them as being very accurate. They just sort of squeeze whatever fits into where, but they are by no means considered the "official" thing outside of a card game. Amazon's surgery is partly mystical, just as BLACK's is partly technological. I'm not gonna say that there's one definite "mystical" Rider or whatever, but I don't think Ranger Strike terms are the best way to categorize it. IMHO.

And anyway, BLACK's a good show.

Must I say, Kotaro Minami is arguably the best role model in any toku. He has a clear sense of right and wrong, his feelings of justice and family values just amaze me. Even after losing the only two people he calls family, he keeps fighting for justice. He doesn't whine or BAWWWWWWWW, he fights on.

And I really loved the villain cast as well. We have a threesome of vocal talent-Takeshi Watabe(Sunvulcan, Gavan, Metaldar) as the Century King, Shozo Iizuka(Battle Fever J, Goranger, Sunvulcan, Metaldar) as Daromu, and Toshimichi Takahashi(Goggle V, Juspion, Sharivan) as Baromu.
Black and Metaldar are my favorite tokus so far.

Kamen Rider Black/Black RX is definitely the best Kamen Rider of all time. It is also arguably the best toku show ever.

wow. that's a lot of love for KR Black.

Anyway, they should do a remake of the show, like The First. maybe it could be called The Black. Just to keep the special effects up to date.

But, keep the suit, i must repeat, the smoking effect is plain awesome!

Watch and finish KR Black first before you say something, Black Fang. I just used the Ranger Strike cards as an example. Those are official Toei/Ishinomori Pro merchandise. The cards also make sense. However, there are classifications for some characters which are apt for others as well. Take the case of Gekiranger. It's classified as a Wild Beast sentai primarily because of its Geki Beasts although it should have been a Mystic Arms sentai because of its martial arts (Juken) and other mystical themes like Fierce Ki etc. It is more of a Mystic Arms sentai and that is why most fans love it.

Way ahead of you by 3 years. Black is one of the most overrated tokus ever. Good show, but not deserving of this reenactment of the worship toward Baal so many fans perform.
