Like I just said, the fanbase for the Heisei Riders is much bigger and growing faster, unlike the Showa Riders. The Heisei Riders are simply more popular and would bring in more sales than a game that consisted mostly of Showa Riders. Doesn't matter what you think. You can easily tell by their exclusion from recent movies and video games. Even in movies they're at most, easter eggs rather than a point of any significance. Having Showa Riders normally available wouldn't do much for sales. If anything, the things that would bring up sales the most are online multiplayer and custom soundtrack. Showa Riders? lmao. Regardless of their popularity today their time is over and aren't much higher than an easter egg.
Go to Japan. Go to an event where Kamen Rider suits appear. People, children mostly, go insane whenever V3 or Super-1 show up, as much as they do with Den-O and Double. I haven't gone myself, this alone I could tell by stage-show videos and the experiences people have shared online. Riders 1 and 2 still get the most cheers out of everyone.
Yes, in some of their recent appearances they've been ''easter eggs'', but so have the Riders from Kuuga onwards. Faiz is as of much significance to the plot of Superhero Taisen as is Skyrider, the same applies in All Riders vs DaiShocker. Hell, in that movie X-Rider has more dialogue than many of the Heisei Riders.
Megamax portrayed them excellently, they went out of their way to NOT give the impression that they're only suits and it's characters in there.
Rider Generation. No Rider is overlooked in that game. You know who's an easter egg in those games? A Heisei Rider.
All the pre-Kuuga Riders is an absolute boost to sales for the same reason why it's so exciting for people to watch all the main Riders lined up in a movie, for the same reason it's exciting to watch Super-1 & Fourze fight together. For the same reason the first Rider Generation got a sequel.
For the same reason why there's been games for other consoles that feature Rider 1 and BLACK RX alongside Decade and Den-O. I'm talking about recent games.
This is why I say this is a weird decision. They've never been overlooked like this before, and there's also what I mentioned regarding recent games.
Now that I think about it though... I can see why they did it. For the same reason why a plot point would be removed from another game and featured as dlc.
It just emphasizes my point though, it gives them more money.
As of this point, I've no idea if they have a sequel planned. Truth be told, I don't know if they had one in mind when they released the first Rider Generation. If they do, it's all the more reason to exclude the pre-Kuuga Riders from this one and I have no argument anymore.
Secondary Riders would be horrible for DLC considering how absolutely crucial they are to the main Rider's interaction. Everybody loves crossover interactions but no matter what, you always need interaction from the same cast. Plus, having secondary Riders alone doubles the roster and potentially higher sales because again, they are simply newer and more well known to our time's audience. Tertiary Riders however, would be great DLC. Music as DLC would be amazing as well.
That part was just my opinion. If they really were crucial how come we didn't see Gatack running around with Kabuto in his recent appearances?
Yes, in Climax Heroes he's there, but the same cannot be said of all the other shows with multiple Riders in them. The first Climax Heroes had very few. Took them a long time to get Chalice in, which is essential to Blade based on your argument. Blade was alone in the first CH.
As I said, if there's a sequel already planned I have no argument
How can you be aware that we have the Decade Apollo Geist but not even consider the fact that the Shocker grunts can be from Decade too? As much as you want Showa Riders as part of the main cast, it isn't an excuse for ignorance.
Not as noticeable. The DaiShocker/Super Shocker grunts look the same. And first thing that will come to mind to anyone looking at them is Riders 1 and 2, or at least the original shocker. DaiShocker is a tribute to the original after all. Notice that in every movie DaiShocker and Super Shocker have appeared, so too has at least one Showa Rider. When Apollo Geist first showed up in Decade, so too did BLACK RX.
Hell, my argument was about pre-Kuuga Riders being excluded yet pre-Kuuga villains are there. If their time was really over we wouldn't even have them.
Sorry about this big argument that's getting us off-topic, but I don't understand this mentality that ''the newer guys are more popular'', I don't see anything that proves it.
Sure, they are, for a while, and that's just the very newest, which are the 3 most recent series at most. Kuuga, Agito and Ryuki are old already. Shadow Moon and Ohja are still beloved.
Moreover, it's a rare case to see someone declare they're only a fan of either the Showa or Heisei era rather than just Kamen Rider. Whenever I've seen this, it's been mostly purists taking the Showa era side...
Again, as I said, no main Rider has been forgotten entirely. As of now, everyone of them is well known and remembered.
