Kamen Rider Agito - Talk Up!

Mayve if your friends are cool like us, but while my friends are down with the geekness, most would give it a derisive snort and a laugh without trying to see the story or world within.

More recent shows like GARO, Kabuto and Sh15uya fair better with the muggle audience. But for folk like us, it's more than likely you're going to have yourself a damn good time.

I asked my friend to download Garo 1-3 for me. He said it was so shitty he didn't even want to give it to me. (And that was only with episode one.)  So I fail to see your point. However, I could see giving Kabuto to some people and them getting into it, even though from what I understand, Agito (and, to a lesser extent, Kuuga) is far more realistic. They never even use the term Kamen Rider.

For about... the seventh time now, I'm not knocking Agito's overall quality or story even. I've seen two episodes.. wait... maybe only one. Only thing I've commented on is the style of camera used which is just not as liked by me as what's been in series since.... and for maybe the eighth time it's not a big deal.. just and observation.

Okay, you know, I now can sorta see where both sides are coming from. You're making an observation, but it sounds like an insult, so people are jumping on you. I did the same thing with Bioman when I saw the first episode and people hopped all over me for it. Even still, people sound a bit peeved because you *are* to an extent, insulting Agito, which is seen as both one of the most realistic Toku series ever made, as well as one of, if not the best "crossover" series ever created. You're saying that its not, which is almost as bad as insulting the plotline of Agito itself.

My point was that your average joe geek is usually more okay with stuff like GARO versus more vintage stuff like Agito which has the production quality of a 1980's live action Saturday morning show...... which for myself is not a problem because I like using my imagination, but other folk are less patient and could careless if the show's actual quality. Which... I find it strange we need go so indepth over something pretty insignificant.

I haven't even sat through two episodes yet. :P

No. What I've done is just make a personal observation. Not even a critque. Then people turn it into an insult. Then after seven times of saying, "Guy.. I'm not insulting it. You're telling me things I already know, it's just an observation.. a minor one at that." Then people continue to ignore what I say and defend something I'm not attacking.

Again.... how unneeded this is is boardering ridiculous, cuz like I said... I haven't even really seen two episodes yet.

Ouch. Well....I think I should stay away from this topic because I know this comment won't go over well with Agito fans. *hides*

I guess that did sound insulting... tho I liked 80's live-action. Production reminds me of... hmmmmm..... oh! Captain Power!

Which, for myself, makes it all the more fun, but in a different way. :anime:

 Maybe Bolt will want to argue the point further, but to me, it just proves, no matter how much he refuses, that JC is a "style over substance" type ("struggling to get past the first two episodes"). If he doesn't like Agito's style, he may as well not bother with anything prior to 2000.

It's kind of curious that one can liken Agito to a "Saturday morning production," but still like Power Rangers...

PERFECT case in point here if you'll notice. Now, for the eighth time I'll say that I haven't dissed the show, said I didn't like it, nor have I said anything about "struggling" to get past two episodes. I believe I've said I haven't found the time.

Yet here again is almost forcing me to pretend I said anything about not liking the show... oddly enough. :sly:

Nor have I said anything about Agito's style, but merely the camera employed in shooting the show, which around the 10th time now is minor at best. I even said I liked how it reminded me of Captain Power in its production style.

That I pick style over substance? When I haven't even said if I've liked the show or not... or even seen enough to like it or not almost seems like he's making this up on purpose or to bully me into liking it once I do start watching it, because if I don't I've proven I'm style over substance which.... in anything I've seen or enjoyed has never been the case.

Saturday morning live-action ain't a bad thing, especially considering the time it was done and the budget the had.... I'm more about enjoying what a show can do with what it has, which is why I'm down with the Power Rangers and even started watching Tokusatsu.

Save your defending of the show 'til I actually watch it and might have genuine critques. :rolleyes2:

No idea what you're trying to say here as I haven't said anything on whether or not Agito is good or not.

Just that it seems like everything you watch has to be dark, "epic," and filled with melodramatic overacting, like GARO (which, maybe it's just me, wasn't epic at all). Tokusatsu is for children and should be taken as such. Sometimes you just can't expect bloodshed and sacrifice while a choir sings and spandex n' foam-rubber heroes fight in the rain. :rolleyes2:

You're not making any sense, man. If it doesn't bother you in the slightest, and you actually enjoy how "charmingly vintage" it is (despite not even being half a decade old), why did you bring it up in the first place? Usually when I see things that are small gripes/I actually like (which is it?), I just don't mention them, that's all I'm saying. Not to try to bust your balls, but even if you didn't try to sound insulting, the way you phrased it definitely made it sound like Agito wasn't worth your time to watch because it's not all CGI and filmgloss. ;)
