Juuken Sentai Gekiranger - Talk Up! [Spoilers]

Probally a tribute to Gavan.

and this just keeps getting better and better. I haven't been on the edge of my seat like this with a Sentai series in a long time.

Eldar: Actually, Rio wasn't the man who killed Dan extactly.
Rio landed the killing blow and thats all that matters.

I expect Rio learning the truth and attacking Long.
I seriously doubt his feelings regarding Long is going to change just because he learned Long wounded Byakko afterall Rin Jyu Ken was founded by three fellas who ganged up and killed their master. Treachery and deception was even part of Rio's curriculum under the kenmas. He had no problem with Rageku poisoning him and forcing Mele to burn herself up to win a fight against Shafu.

But it sparks a question, what's Long's motive in all this
To make Rio stronger and thus worthy to become the Phantom Beast King.

Eldar: No, just that he kills Long for robbing him of his win. Plus, Long's tied to Rio's past (the dreams). Rio did at first with Rageku's methods until he learned it was to test his envy, which is a Rinjuuken path to power.

But Long's motive in all this is a mystery, but it's clear that he's centuries old with eternal youth.

A lesson that could have killed all the participants.

And isn't what Long did the same thing? To help Rio advance in power? If he was beaten by Jan's father he would never have become the lord of RinJyuDen. He does much the same thing by pushing Rio into obtaining Dorinki, stopping him from going to the Beast Origin Village until SouJyuTou is found by Mele, distracting Maku and going back in time to help restore Rio's memory.

Yeah but why? why does Lomg gain out of it all.
Probably the same motives for the Kenmas and Kensei, to ensure the supremacy of their martial arts schools over the others.

Eldar: You have to see it from Rio's perspective, no not "just power" but "his own power", hence his similarity to Maku.

Long's ambition may be tied to Genjuuken's rise to power, but there may be more to it. Long might had attempted to pull the same stunt with Maku in the past.

True. But I got a feeling Long is out for something more than just the martial arts school. Probally for himself to control the world or something.

Ron is the master manipulator in this series. He's like the devil incarnate who lures power-hungry martial artists and eventually leads them to their doom until a younger and equally promising one emerges. Maybe he did to Maku what he is doing to Rio today. The only probable difference is that Ron told Maku to surpass the power of humans whereas to Rio, surpass the power of beasts. Just the same, both Rio and Maku wanted to be the best and the strongest in the literal sense of it and they want to show the world that they have beaten their rivals CONVINCINGLY.

This finale won't be good unless Rio dies.... It's inevitable.

If Toei pulls another "turning good, ok I learned my lesson" **** I'll flip. I want epic ****. I have high hopes for the finale with Rio.

Also, his new armor is incredible. Isn't a Gryphon a Lion with wings?.

It's a an eagle with a lion's body. If Rio has to die, then it has to be a death that is full of drama for one of the greatest and youngest main villain in the history of Super Sentai.
