Jungle Fury "Scab" Writers Taking Over Soon

Strictly speaking, they really don't have anything to prove because by crossing the pickit line and scabbing they are barred from ever joining the WGA if they're not members already, and if they are, they're kicked out.

However, as producers, I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) Bruce and Jackie could still do their producer duties during the strike, just not write anything.

Maybe they could have given pointers, or something. I don't know. (Would that even be allowed?)

You're assuming these scabs want to join the WGA or have to. Believe it or not but WGA is not a requirement to be a writer across the globe. And PR films in New Zealand. :P

Not on PR but on other shows, they would at least have something on their resume.

Also, I thought PR hired non guild peeps?

I believe the current actors are non union.

Disney has union writers, non union actors, which may be a good thing if the expected SAG strike does happen.

That's right, there's another one approaching.

No, they're not barred HOWEVER they lose certain rights like the ability to hold a officer position or vote. This is IF the writers claimed FiCore.

Workers with fi-core status -- also known as fee-paying nonmembers -- can work union and nonunion jobs while remaining eligible for benefits, including health insurance and pension, by giving up their full union membership but continuing to pay the base annual dues, withholding the portion of dues that goes toward such activities as political campaigns and contract negotiations. The WGA collects dues quarterly: Members pay the guild 1.5 percent of their gross quarterly earnings plus $25. There is no minimum payment. Those who go fi-core cannot vote in union elections or hold office.

I doubt it (re the strike) since the SAG will not allow non union actors in US movies or shows. HOWEVER, this might be the reason why PR is filmed in New Zealand.
