Japanese PV with subs

Does anybody know where to get (or can hook me up) with some music PV's with subtitles on them? I would like to show some to the students that I am teaching right now.

Thanks in advance!

Just to be sure, did you want Japanese PVs with english subs or English Videos with Japanese subs?

Japanese PVs with English subs. I am currently teaching an Elementary Japanese class right now so I would like to show some vids to them.

Okay. Since they're elementary we'll keep it simple. I've got some Hello! Project PVs that will be safe (i.e. no gratuitous sex or anything) for them to watch. They're all of songs that have been released within the last 3 months or so, therefore if they're music fans they should be familiar with the songs (hearing them on the radio, for example). That should also help them understand the subs better since they should have an idea of what the songs are. The videos all have english and romanji subs (hardsubbed), and were done by the subbing crew at the JPH!P forums. I'll add the DL links to this post as I get them done. You can do MegaUpload, right?

PV 1: Abe Natsumi - The Stress (They'll probably pronouce it "Za Sutoresu") - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UHV819DM
This song is actually a cover, it was used in a recent string of CMs in Japan (though I can't remember what product the CMs were advertising; I think it was for some type of beverage). The song was originally done/released in 1989 by Moritaka Chisato, herself a famous Idol singer.

PV 2: Goto Maki - Glass no Pumps ("Gurasu no Pumpusu"?) - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B1AJMKBS
In this video, the text in the karaoke "part" of the subs flashes by rather quickly. It's a good example of how quickly the tempo of Japanese language can be, where a word (when romanized) looks like it's really long, but when it's pronounced, actually almost appears to "slur" some of the syllables together.

PV 3: Morning Musume - Ambitious! Yashintenki de Ii Jan - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=74I4HQLU
The subs in this video were kept simple. No effects or anything fancy. This one also does not have the lyrics in kanji/gana/kana like the others do.

PV 4: Kusumi Koharu - Koi Kana - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QSGCBKY0
This song is the OP for an anime that's currently airing (and which is apparently rather popular and doing well) called Kirarin Revolution. Koharu-chan (who, incidentally, is also currently a member of Morning Musume), was selected to sing the OP for the anime as well as to be the voice of the main character, Tsukishima Kirari. And if she looks really young, it's because she is young (14 years old, to be exact).

PV 5: Rain (Bi) - Sad Tango - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QCU3RKJ1
This song is the debut song of a Korean singer who's beginning to break in Japan. In S.Korea, he's known apparently known as "Bi" (pronounced "bee"), which I'm told in Korean means rain. Upon coming to Japan, he uses the hiragana character for "Bi", but chooses to call himself "Rain". Therefore (at least from the media files of him that I've found), his romanized name is listed as "Rain(Bi)". I got this PV from the Kuraki-Fans site (website listed below), and the subs, in my opinion, are top-notch. They have the "karaoke effect" synched for the english lyrics, the romanji lyrics, AND for the kanji/gana/kana lyrics.

Well, that's all I've got in terms of subbed PVs. Hope it helps dude. I gots to get me some sleep now. :anime:

Cool stuff, where did you get these from? Hello! project or something you say?

Know a place where they sub Jrock stuff( Jrock like Dir en Grey, Gazette, etc etc, The heavier stuff, not the lighter stuff)

The PVs I'm uploading are from Idols and groups under the banner of "Hello! Project". They're all under the same management and have the same writers and choreographers and ****. It's sort of like P-Diddy's "Bad Boy Family", only with cute/hot Japanese girls. :anime:

The Hello! Project PVs were done by my friends at the JPH!P forums. They've only started doing this recently, but hope to be able to do more H!P vids in the future.

As for other PVs (by JRock or in any other genres), I've found it's usually just random people doing them when they find a PV that they really like. It also depends on if they actually know how to hardsub. You can try the JPopSuki tracker link in my sig, as some are posted there from time to time (listed/identified as "Fansubs"). As far as actual fansubbing websites, the only one that I personally know of is Kuraki-Fans. They do awesome work making subs for PVs so that you can acutally use them for karaoke. They tend to do more JPop and JUrban stuff, but they've done some JRock too. The PVs they do are available through torrents (no need to sign up as a member if I remember correctly), however they don't have an actual tracker, so there's no way to know if a torrent you want has any seeds. Anyway, here's the link to their site. Click on "RELEASE ARCHIVE" to see the full list of PVs they've done.

If you're specifically talking about Morning Musume, then I'd have to say "yep". Hello! Project is the larger informal name/group which includes Morning Musume, a few other groups and several soloists (like Goto Maki and Abe Natsumi). As a matter of fact, just this past sunday it was announced that Morning Musume's/Hello! Project's producer, Tsunku, had decided to hold a round of nationwide auditions in Japan for the 8th Generation (i.e. the 8th new set of member) to join the group. Don't know why he keeps stirring the pot so often (he averages having auditions every 18 months or so), but it keeps Morning Musume in the public eye. But whatever, it's Tsunku's creation so he can do whatever the **** he wants with it.

Another site with subbed japanese music videos is Mognet. They do all types normally and use torrents. Although it's safer to get the newer stuff, the older stuff isn't really seeded much.

Oh ****!!! How could I have forgotten Mognet! I usually just go there to look for romanized lyrics to Japanese songs. I totally forgot that they have downloadable **** too. D'OH!
