I've lost My Hard Drive.

As the title states.

I got Tiger for my mac today for Christmas and I was todl that I coudl save around my hard drive so nothing would be lost. All my photos, writings and pretty much my life's work woudl be safe.

I try to install it the first time and the system locks up midway. I'm forced to restart.

I finally go through it and nothing survives.

I lose everything. The only things that did survive were my applications, no other folders. Everything else is gone in the blink of an eye. However, apparently, I still have only 3 gigs left so there's a slim chance it's still on the system but I can't find it.

Don't suppose any Mac experts here can help me out.

If this was a Christmas gift then you're in the bad case of being given the worst Christmas gift ever. Sorry dude!! :(

I'm pretty good with PCs, but sorry not good with Macs. Merry Christmas, I hope you find those files. Maybe find a forum devoted to that product for help?

Call it an overdue Christmas mircale guys but tech support came into the picture and I got back my motha-fawking hard drive!!

Had to dig around a bit after all but there it was, my music, writing and everything. And now that the disc drive has been fixed due to the upgrade, the proccess of a massive backup exodus is going to start very soon.

So w00t. Thanks for the support during this two day crisis guys ^^;
