Is UPS on crack?

Forever Knight

Eye See You
I am awaiting a package from a friend of mine and he paid express post so the package would arrive to me by the end of the week (yesterday). Now, I sat at home all day and waited for the damn thing because the website said it was out for delivery.

Now.... by 9pm last night I had to go to work so I assumed something went wrong.

2 times yesterday I called the UPS website and asked them wtf was taking so long and the lady said everything was fine and the package would be delivered.

It never showed up. So I get home this morning and check the website and it says this:

14/07/2006 22:18 DEPARTURE SCAN
14/07/2006 22:00 DESTINATION SCAN
14/07/2006 19:52 THE RECEIVER REQUESTED A HOLD FOR A FUTURE DELIVERY DATE. UPS WILL ATTEMPT DELIVERY ON DATE REQUESTED
14/07/2006 9:00 OUT FOR DELIVERY
14/07/2006 5:09 ARRIVAL SCAN

What in the living ****?..... I never called them and said to hold my package off. Infact I did the exact opposite, TWICE.

I'm uber pissed right now and could literally kick the **** out of something,

So now I have to wait until monday. Has this ever happend to anyone here?. What do you think I should say come monday morning? I'm ready to seriously bitch UPS out and the Delivery guy aswell.

You know it's not uncommon. Go to LiveJournal's Bad_Service and you will come across story after story of people having horrible experience with UPS.

I'll tell you our last bad experience.

We ordered some parts for a customer and we ordered it to arrive within three business days. The package had tracking so we knew it was in a nearby city so we would get the package the next day (it was day 2 at that time). Day 3, the package was tracked into the next town (keep in mind the UPS hub is about a mile from our house). All day it road around that UPS truck but never showed up. Second day, same thing. Third thing it went BACK to the other store. Day four BACK to the opposite town near us. Day FIVE, in our town. Day SIX it arrived. -_-

Stupid UPS.

^ Wow, that sucks too. So what did you end up doing? Any complaining or bitching to them or is that just pointless to do?.

I just would like to know why this Driver ended up doing this and I am fully going to ask him what the hell is going on.

I've never had a situation like this with UPS before. I could understand if the guy was running late on his route but for the love of Heyzuz, the tracking site said it was on route for delivery since 9am. There is no way someone can be 12 hours behind in their job. It's unheard of.

As long as I recieve everything Monday I will be happy but if not then some serious h3ll is going to be raised.

"Consider it Done!!"

That was UPS's TV Commercial slogan. Well after reading this thread I think they should change the slogan to "Consider it Not Done". :P

It's pretty much pointless since it happens all over the place. It really doesn't seem as if UPS cares. Frankly, when possible, we don't use them because they're overpriced (especially if you mail directly from a UPS Store) and they don't always deliver when they're supposed to OR deliever to the wrong address (Xmas we kept getting packages for people on totally DIFFERENT streets).

More like, "consider it lost."

Yeah, some of those drivers are shady. I've had times where they said they came to my house and never did(no door tag or anything). So I end up just calling to find out when the UPS place will have my package for pickup and just pick it up.

Funny you mention that. A few weeks ago I was expecting a package from them and luckily my room is near the front door and I was walking to the kitchen to grab some water and I saw the UPS guy at the door literally giving my door 2 or 3 love tap knocks which not even a dog could hear.

I walked to the door and the dude was already writing up that form where it says they were at ur house but you weren't home. I was just looking at the dude and was like "It's ok to actually knock on the door".

How do these people keep their jobs?.
