IS THIS NEW?? Or Am I just Crazy?

I'm sorry if anyone sees this as pointless or stupid, but did we always have the "buddy list" thing???? & If not, when did it appear?!??? & Was there something that told us about this that I just missed?????? & Are there any other new things I may not have noticed?? Or just things I probably did not notice?

been there since the boards been around so you probably just didn't notice
