Is Cutey Honey a Martial Artist?

Tell me if I'm wrong, but it looks like she does all her own stunts?

I've only seen the first episode, but it looked like the actress did most of the fight scene at the end. The fight kind of suffered for it though, with poorly placed kicks landing two feet away from a bad guys face.

I'm sure they use stunt doubles though, like any other show, but since the faces of the characters/actresses are still shown after they change (unlike Rider or Super Sentai) they're kind of forced to keep the actress in there more.

I'm just kind of rambling at this point.

She does a bit of her own fighting. Any major falls or wire work there's a stunt double change.

It's her only when you see her face, long shots are usually stunt doubles. Although I was impressed to see her do a lot of her own stuff, but that doesn't mean she's a martial artist. She doesn't look like she is, you can see it by the way she fights.

You can see this too in Disney's PR. Most of the actors don't know jack about martial arts, they just get stunt doubles to fight. you'll notice the fighters covering their face with their arm when fighting. The only one who did his stunts (except suit fighting) was JDF.

No, she has a stunt double named Kumada who stands in for her. She's from AAC along with Mark. In fact she's going to be attending the summer Wushu tournament in Tokyo along with me.

And yeah, ALOT of Japanese people (let alone Gravure Idols) don't know martial arts. Hell, they don't even practice JAPANESE martial arts. Even further, a lot of stuntmen/women here don't even know martial arts. Although they may have had some martial arts training in the past, very few of them stick to their art like the few of them that do. The rest of em' do the basic "Kickboxing" style" which ain't gonna go away anytime soon.

Actors and actresses on movies and TV shows like this only do film fighting cause it's a job opportunity for them.

Do they look that much alike? Because I've seen her pull off some pretty difficult things with kicking, wrapping her leg around heads and flipping all where you can see her face while she does it.

Believe me. They look nothing alike. It's just the wig.
