InuYashsa - Small Rant

SaikoDragon

It's Judgement Time!
When InuYasha first aired I thought it was great, hilarious, cute. It was interesting. Well here we are now, in season... what season is this anyway. Season 20? Good lord I dont know. But I do know that InuYasha has jumped the shark for me.

I just hate how endless it is. Nothing gets done at all on the show. They continue to get the shards but it seems like there are endless amounts of them. The story of Kikyo and InuYasha is played out. We get it. Betrayal, it was a lie. Whoo... And Kikyo just cant get over it and yadda yadda and Kagome loves InuYasha and they keep beating a dead horse.

It's just annoying to me because by now, I can tell that by the end of the series Kagome and InuYasha will never get together romantically, ever. If it ever ends. No they will either go their seperate ways or just look off to the future and keep arguing in some crappy fade out. I mean it's pointless, why sit through this drama when nothing gets done at the end of a season?

Naraku is still around, he will never die. Miroku still has a hole in his hand. I mean, I hate it when an anime procrastinates until the very very end.

I liked InuYasha at first. I even started collecting the boxed sets but I stopped. Because I just dont want to watch mindless filler episodes for 6-7 seasons when NOTHING gets done. The story doesnt progress at all. They arent any closer to finishing the jewel. Naraku never dies. InuYasha never confesses love, Shippou just gets into all kinds of cute wackiness.

It's almost pointless to watch the show. I've stopped watching it because all I do is groan when I do see it on the TV. Sure it's cute and funny. I like the humor and love Shippou but daym. I want the anime to go somewhere, mean something.

How does everyone else feel? Anyone know what's coming around the corner in the series?

I bought the movies and watched em too... biggest wastes of time ever. Again, nothing got accomplished. At the end of each movie it was back to square 1.

I mean I hated the whole Kikyo saga. She never died, her purpose in the world just baffled me. I couldnt even fathom why she hated InuYasha. They both figured out it was a mistake. She's just a bitch and it never goes anywhere. And then Kagome gets all teary eyed and sad and yeah you get bad for her but does anything come of it? No! They just have a fight and become friends again. Kagome never confesses, nothing ever comes out of the drama or relationship. So it's almost as if the drama never happened at all.

Bah. I just had to rant. I dont know how anyone can watch the show after the first 4 seasons.

Im just the kindaguy that prefers his stories to have a beginning and an end. Fillers are nice but dammit, I want to see a conclusion at the end of each season. Something climatic, that draws the curtains on a problem or plot. Not just filler after filler after filler.

It's the same reason I got tired of watching pokemon. Nothing but fillers.

My ex loved this show with a passion, wanted me to watch it but I wouldn't, because even though I hadn't seen much, what I had seen bored me. Naruto is the only anime I'm willing to watch with such a huge list of episodes. Other than that I can't stand when an anime goes this long.

I used to watch it too but stopped because it was getting pointless. I mean, how many other schemes can Naraku undergo? I had stopped reading the manga but was curious a while ago so read a few of the more recent chapters, but it seems like it's finally winding down. Finally.

Manga's on it's way to ending FINALLY, so the anime might come back in a few years filler free.

Are they thinking of bringing back the anime for another season or as OVAs? But even if they do, there'll still be quite a few fillers to go through before getting to the good stuff.

No, there's zero chance it'll have any filler if they bring it back. Reason being is that the anime stopped following the manga about a year before the anime ended, the anime ended about two years ago. So that's around 160 chapters worth of story they have to work with.

I watched it for a while, too. I've missed a lot of episodes, so when I finally get to watch it I'm not sure what's going on, or if I'm watching the episodes out of order.

...Dragonball Z For Girls...

I wonder how many girls are insulted by that. I know some of my best female friends are.

Either way, IY sucks. There are no bright points to it. At least DBZ switched villains four times. In IY, no matter how many new villains show up, they're always secondary to Naraku. (IE, they're usually his servants.) Even Naruto can manage to have villains that aren't in servitude to the SAME GUY.

My very first girlfriend loved this show, and we got in one of our first argument when I very plainly said (and this was all I said) that, "I don't like it". (Amusingly enough, sometime after we broke up I spoke to her and she said it sucked.)

IMO, this was Adult Swim's first mistake. Oh well. :disappoin :disappoin
