Imagi's Gatchaman?

So a decent anime adaptation in America like Astro Boy flops and the Gatchaman movie gets canned because Imagi shut down.....yet that DOG **** Dragonball movie gets a fucking sequel! >:(

Despite thinking their films needed work in the writing and directing department, I really wanted to see Imagi prosper. Kinda disappointing.

Oh please they're from two completely different companies and DBE2 isn't confirmed, just rumored. In case you didn't know IMDB is a terrible source since there are zero moderators.

Sequel or not, I still think it's DBE's fault for the failure of Astro Boy and the cancellation of Gatchaman and T28. For years, Hollywood has had a horrible track record of adapting anime into the big screen (Speed Racer, anyone?), but Imagi wanted to prove otherwise. However, since DBE came before Astro Boy, and since DBE had such a negative impact, it left such an ugly mark on Hollywood's anime adaptations, that less and less people won't notice gems like Astro Boy. Sure it's animated compared to DBE and sure it wasn't a masterpiece, but I found it to be more entertaining than Fox's poor attempt at bringing a well known anime to the big screen.

I think Imagi is very underrated.

Just cause he want to watch a movie with a real little boy walking around in spadex-undies doesn't give you the right to punch him through the whole internet.

I would change that by replacing them with black jeans . I'll have to upload the concept art I made to show you guys what I mean.

Either Noah Ringer or that Asian kid who played in GI Joe can play him. DeVito would play Higeoyaji , and Gregory Peck as Elefun.

Guys!

What we really needs is to hiring right people who has this great passion of anime, who would bring a great aspect of telling stories from the movies itself. It's isn't that difficult to do so. Granted, Hollywood has terrible track of bring into adapting anime from Japan.

Currently they're running out of ideas, but rather than creating new ideas to make new movies, new stories for us to enjoying it, they pulled wonderful movies out of the shelves to rebooting them, that I find it very annoying. From the very beginning, they should leave those originals alone.

We need excellent writers with lots of brilliant ideas! Why don't you guys do that also? Guys, are you excellent writers? Can you bring a great aspect of telling stories? Just asking, that's all.

I do think DBE did have a hand in Imagi's failure with Astro Boy but don't lump up Hollywood all together as one. Remember like anime Hollywood isn't a single person like what many people think it is, its a group of companies that all do things differently. But also I think Imagi had some serious problems in the marketing department, there were hardly any commercials at prime time hours on networks it should be on the the internet marketing wasn't that great either.

And Speed Racer was a fine movie and a near perfect adaptation (unless if you haven't watched Speed Racer)
