CRETINS! ALL OF THEM!
If anybody care I went to New-York this past weekend (Thanksgiving Day in Canada! Long weekend fun!) and I got back last night. Our hotel was on the corner of 27th and Broadway, not the nicest part of the street but not too far from Time Square either. We could see the Empire State Building from our room. So here is a run down of what I did ...
Thursday: We drove down to Montreal and spent the night at the Hilton near the airport.
Friday: We had to be at the airport for 8:30 AM or so. There was a huge lineup at customs, it was a bit bothersome... and they were all ahead of us. Nobody behind us. Flight was delayed by about an hour because of fog at Laguardia. We got to hotel and went around shopping. At the Manathan Mall's Gamestop I purchased a Hoshingami: Ruining Blue Earth - Remix with no more information than what was on the box and a vague feeling of having heard the name 'Hoshigami' before. I did that simply because I had never seen that game back home and it felt like a one shot opportunity. I'm not dissapointed so far,:buttrock: except by the graphics. We had dinner at Applebee's and at the giant Toys 'R' Us at Time Square I picked up Pokémon FireRed for 20 dollars, less than what a USED copy would cost me back home. We spotted a pile of Wii and my sister bugged my mom about it and thus now we own a Wii! And we also picked up WiiPlay with Wiimote to go along. :thumbs:
Saturday: We took the subway up to 77th street or so, went to central part then into the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I saw the egyptian temple...pretty wicked to see it for real! We too a detour so I could snap a picture of the Alice in Wonderland statue (it appears in Gargoyles!) then we headed to the Museum of Natural History. Man that whale is HUGE! :O_O: We walked back toward our hotel. I stopped at Borders in hope of picking up Kamen Rider The First. No luck :redface2: We stopped at the Virgin Superstore. They boast the biggest DVD selection in the world and while I DID spot a La Blue Girl Live action DVD (and hentai in the anime section) still no The First :redface2:. While my mom and sister were going to Macy's ,AGAIN, I walked down to Imagine Anime (which you guys recommended). I wanted Godannar Perfect Collection but they were all out so I just picked up Slayers OAV Collection by ADV for 20 bucks, something that, if I could have find it back home, would have probably cost me 10+ dollars more! I saw a guy with like 5 Kabuto Rider Form figure. It didn't occur to me right there but was it one of you guys? I was the dude with the hat :sweat:.
Sunday: We went toward SoHo and visited a H&M store where I got myself a pretty nice xip up hoodie with a nice pattern on it. We walked a bit around Chinatown but I didn't spot anything interesting beside a cat that looked like a fatter version of mine :laugh:. We did visit the Hershey store where I picked up a little gift for my dad. He brought me something from there when he went to New-York so I'm returning the favor. After wandering around for a while we spent 20 minutes waiting for our ride back to the airport. There was no waiting time and the ride felt shorter but that pilote ascended and descended WAY too fast :shakefist my right ear hurt so bad I was affraid I'd start to bleed! It still wasn't cleared up 4 hours later when I went to bed!!
In the end it was pretty fun. I got myself two new games and more Slayers anime for cheaper than I would back home (saving on sales tax is fun
), saw cool stuff at both museums, ate Applebee's for the first time in my life and now my family's got a Wii! Super Smash Brawl here I come! WOOT! Which reminds me I need to reserve a copy oO!
