question: can i include other riders in the fan art apart from sigma? im not really clear on that portion of the rules on your contest page.

Yeah, it's in rule #1:

The completed 2D image can incorporate any cannon (official) Kamen Rider characters, but must include at least one of my
original characters from Kamen Rider Sigma.

Are very minor redesigns allowed, like changing colors around slightly or adding new elements to costumes?

I hate to sound rude but do we have to read the fanfic to get an idea of what the character looks like? I'd love to contribute some designs as I love designing my own kamen riders but I definately don't have the time to read through fanfic.

Is there some sort of Description of Sigma out there that I can follow?
I know there's art of Sigma out there but I'm wondering if you're looking for more

It's not required to read the story, but I do think it helps. At the very least, browse through the other pages (Characters, Sigma's profile, etc.) to get a basic idea of how things work, and the artwork on the Gallery page. There will be some new art popping up this week of various other characters who've appeared recently too.
