My high school was used as a voting location and I didn't get election days off.

Well, it's not like they need to use the ENTIRE school building to do the voting. Unless someone forks over a shitload of money to cover the operating costs for keeping the school open, never expect to get the day off because of an election. If you do, then you're lucky, but don't think for a second that you're entitled to have it off, because quite frankly, you're not.

For some odd reason they use the cafeterias. I guess they close them for "security" purposes where so many strangers are walking in & out of the buildings. Who really knows..XD!

I'd like to know this as well. I believe most states have laws in place that require your employer to give you a set period of time (unpaid) off from work to vote. In Illinois anyways, it's two hours. I've never heard of schools getting a day off for the pres. election...that's just ridiculous.
