oh I know they do, sometimes. But I suspect that this just wasnt one of those times. Hugo is a big name (thanks to LotR, Matrix, and V. All great movies and two of them being smash hit trilogies.) but Welker is also a big name for TF.

Either Hugo really kicked ass in the audition or there were some backroom politics that sealed the deal.

People know Welker's name but not his face. Where as Hugo has a marketable known name AND face hence I believe this is stunt casting.

I trust em. Hugo Weaving is a great actor with really good range. I believe he's going to do a fine job.

I thought the Matrix was overrated and silly when it first came out (and still do) and I didn't really pay attention to him in LotR.

Judging by the fact that Cullen is using a deeper voice for Optimus, I think this version of Megatron is not going to be one we're familiar with.

well at least two of the VA's will be good. Not sure about Spongebob guy for Starscream.
